Hi, name is Sam, my wife Lore (Lori with an E)has had fibro since the mid 1990's. It has kind of been in remission so to speak for the past 12 yrs or so. Occasional flareups but manageable.
Lore and I have been together for 9 yrs.
In May she had gall bladder surgery that had complications(massive stone, gall bladder partially fused to liver, surgeons conferencing in specialists during the operation to figure out what to do). Since then her fibro has returned with a vengeance, she had to quit her job due to the pain.
For the past week or so she has had extremely painful skin pain across her back. She went to her doc yesterday, ended up having to see the nurse practitioner who sent her to the ER because Lore's pulse was high. NP also had an attitude Lore said. ER ran bunch of tests, found nothing, then did nothing about her pain.
Back in the 90's Lore had a female doc who had fibro and was very helpful. Sadly now her doc doesn't seem to know or do much with fibro. She had mentioned Lyrica to Lore but then said that it's expensive (we have insurance).
So are there any SE NH/NE MA docs/ specialists anyone here could suggest we try? We're not that far from the Greater Boston area so maybe we'd be better off looking in that medical community?
Thanks in advance for any help.
