I used to have a Temper Pedic and that helped, but I had to get rid of it, too big for my new apt. tried several. others without success then I bought a Big Fig mattress set.. 120 days trial period and after 1st night it has made all the difference, now I am able to get out of bed without pain and stiffnesss, also Big Fig is also more affordable than others. I do better with massage therapists that concentrate on pain relief massage, after an hour or more, my knots finally work out of my muscles. I still. cannot find any meds or anything else that relieves the constant tenderness and soreness in my lower tendons around my ankles and muscles in the calves. No amount of massage takes that away. Gabapentin was a miracle for me 3 times a day, it has stopped the all over pain flares. Don't have any idea about for relief for your toe joints and pressure, I have recently noticed that too. Keep trying and hope for more good days!
I'm so glad you found a mattress that works for you - that's briliant! Yeah we don't have big fig over here but I'll have a look at their design to see if i can't find something similar. At the moment we don't have any more money to buy another mattress since we bought so many already but maybe in the future. Massage is one of the only things that helps me too. My only issue is that after an hour so my muscles are tight as hell again. Gabapentin did nothing for me but I wasn't taking it three times a day so I don't know if that might be why. Yeah my toes have gotten worse unfortunately. I'm getting this shooting pain and clicking/popping sensation when I walk. I'm hoping it sorts itself out. I'm sorry your toes have started to hurt too! thanks a lot sweetie <3

I don't really know how he expects me to exercise more or how that could help me. He also put me on some medication to help me sleep but it made me suicidal so I'm wary to go back on it. I think finding anyone who can help is kind of like finding a unicorn.
It sounds like you're doing more than enough exercise already - well done for managing to do so much. I know that it helps me a lot too - also particularly with deep and sharp hip pain - but it took me a long time to build up. Trophies all round!

If you're having a lot of trouble sleeping, that's probably exacerbating everything. And, oh my, I know the horrible medicine side effects roulette game, too  and I'm so glad you came through that OK. How much have you experimented with relaxation and stress management, and have you looked at any supplements to try to help your sleep? That could be an angle of approach to explore - not a unicorn, perhaps (I love that - you're so right!) but every little helps 🦄

thankyou :) I think exercise might be doctors' answer for everything lol.

Yep lack of sleep definitely makes things worse. I'm managing to get to sleep at the moment (thank god) but I just hate waking up because I'm in such severe pain from sleeping when I do. But I'm getting a few hours here and there so that's pretty good for me.

Oh god, medication side effects are the worse. I remember I had to go to the ER for one once because I lost control of my body, could barely move and couldn't talk but I ended up sitting in the waiting room for about 8 hours before a doctor would see me which was really terrifying. I think people with fibro definitely seem to be more sensitive to side effects as well. Thankyou <3 I'm kind of anxious about my next appointment with this doctor because I said I wouldn't take the medication if I didn't like the side effects and then he made me promise to take it anyway for at least six weeks, so I'm worried about what he'll say when I tell him that I stopped it (I was only on 2.5 mg so it was safe for me to stop it without talking to him first since he wasn't available at the time). I have looked at some supplements. None of them have worked for me so far and I'm having an issue with a lot of supplements at the moment where so many of them lower blood pressure and I have bad hypotension that can keep me from sleeping so they make that worse. But I'm seeing a new naturopath tomorrow so maybe she might have some ideas. Oh definitely, every little thing helps.

Try not to feel too anxious with your doctor - you're absolutely ok to stop something if it's making you feel bad. Only you can judge what you're experiencing, and whether or not it's worth trying to push through. They are probably trying to help by encouraging you to stick with it, but at the end of the day it's your body!

Ditto on the hypotension - a lot of the supplements recommended for fibro can really stack up in that respect, which is tricky to navigate. I agree that a lot of us seem to be extra sensitive to these things. Fantastic that you're going to a new naturopath - I hope they can identify some new things to try. Let us know how you get on! 🌼
