Shoulder pain

Consulted pain doctor and rheumatologist.
Started with chiropractor yesterday . Looks like pain is slightly increased . Will go for follow up sessions
I make sure I describe my TCM/acupressurist exactly how my body has reacted, so she can decide whether like sunkacola's said the body is 'working' or praps she needs to adapt or leave it first. After several months she can now do things she didn't used to be able to to me. She listens to me and and my body and I listen to watch she's doing, going with the flow, we work on it together and quite often decide together what's right to do. She has fibro herself.
With my osteopath before it was different, he played only by his intuition and I was often disappointed that he'd worked on something else than I felt my body had wanted. At least he was gentle, altho he didn't have fibro, but I always told him of my overreactions.
Maybe that'll help you get a feeling how to talk with your chiropractor.

@sunkacola i respect you for all your advice. And opinions.

for the pain/tingling in my left hand mri and EMG tests revealed nerve impingement on C5 and C6 . Sometimes it is difficult to see of it is fibromyalgia playing around or it is actually a physical issue
I tend to have always catastrophizing effect due to the pain.
Imagine worst case scenarios of surgeries etc

It is so easy to do that bit about imagining the worst case scenarios. We are almost taught to do that in most western societies and Americans are really good at it. Plus, since those things really are possible, how can you not think of them?

I think the main thing is, don't allow yourself to focus on them, and instead focus on what you can do right this very minute to help yourself. When I start doing worst case scenarios, I go for a walk and look at nature, play with my dogs, read a book or watch a movie, get on this forum and try to be helpful to someone, or in some other healthy way distract myself from those thoughts. When they come back, I do the same thing. It's good also to focus on the best case scenario if you can. So, I do this: Well, it could turn out the very worst way, but hey....it's just as likely to turn out the best way." I just keep thinking that, every time the worst scenario come to my mind.

You can't really just shut it off, or make it not come into your mind, but you can definitely add something onto it to counteract it, and you can distract yourself. I do a combination of those things, and it helps a lot. I also remind myself that worrying does absolutely nothing except hurt me and make the bad thing more likely. That usually helps, too.

As always you are my guru 🙏

Hi, I have a painful right shoulder, I use Lidocaine patches. The Dr. wrote a script so they are very affordable. I have severe pain in the back of my neck that goes into my head and gives me severe headache and I put the patch on the back of my neck. I think the neck, head pain is Fibro related, but I could be wrong. Good luck.

So I’ve had no ops I’ve not hurt myself ,but my shoulders hurt really bad,
I can’t even sleep on the left side.
Tired hot baths
Tramadol
Heat packs
Massage.
Nothing helps .
Yes I’m stressed atm but this is new level pain.
Any tips I’ve not tired I’d be grateful x
have you tried dry needling? it helps

Usually, some common home remedies like heat packs and ice packs provide some relaxation in pain. I think, adding turmeric into the heat packs and then applying it on the shoulder portion will be more effective. I heard some essential oils such as Peppermint oil, Marjoram oil, Lavender oil, etc have a pain diminishing action. Fatty fish, Tomatoes, Fruits like blueberries, strawberries, oranges, Nuts, Green leafy vegetables, such as spinach, and collards, etc are some natural food items that help to reduce pain. Include these food items for your meals. You can also seek help from a trained physiotherapist for getting pain-reducing exercise patterns. They have various relaxation exercises and stretching exercises which make you more comfortable. If these home remedies, will not give you the needed result, or still you are feeling acute or chronic shoulder pain, you should immediately consult your orthopedic specialist to identify the root of your problem.
