I have tried CBD oil but it did nothing for me. I have a hard time absorbing stuff thru the digestive system because of digestive problems. I am currently trying CBD cream but not sure yet if this is working. I have heard from various people that CDB oil helps with the pain but smoking pot is better. It might be worth trying.

Hi Roxana, You always take any tincture under the tongue. I always hold it there for at least a minute to give it lost of time to be absorbed. You don't want to swallow it right away because the value of the tincture (besides not being smoked) is that it is absorbed my the membranes under your tongue and starts working right away. If you swallow it instead then it has to go through your digestive system and takes up to an hour to work.

The cost of the tincture will vary a lot from one region of the country to another and from one dispensary even in the same town to another. So shop around. Where I live, one dispensary can cost as much as $20 more than another on one kind of thing, but then is cheaper on another.

Also, the tinctures come in different strengths. For instance, you can buy a bottle that is 20 mg of medicine per ml of dosage, or one that is 10 mg per ml. The stronger obviously costs more. I recommend starting with the less strong, because it's easier to manage the dosage and to start with a very small amount, and then build up.

I recommend doing tincture rather than smoking. Smoking pot is just as damaging to your lungs as tobacco is, and using a vaporizer is even worse.

Hey Roxana Ra,

I’m sorry to hear you’ve been having such a tough time, being in bed a lot lately. It can be very tough trying to exist with a condition like this...

As I’m very new to having FM, I don’t feel at this point that I have a whole lot to add to the helpful comments people have sent through so far, and I certainly have no advice - I hardly know what works for me yet, let alone someone else with this Condition!

But I really wanted to reply to this comment in particular as I saw you said that you get so anxious sometimes about the pains that you feel like you might become paralysed or that your FM will degenerate.

I just wanted to let you know that I’ve also had those same anxieties and fears. The other night my legs hurt so much I spent the evening in tears of agony, terrified that I wouldn’t be able to move my legs again if the pain continued. Thankfully it was only about 5-6 hours and I can still move my legs, I was walking around today with much less difficulty. I’ve often had fears that my FM could turn into something worse, I think that comes from the way my FM appeared in my life so quickly, and turned from just pains in my arms to all over my body in a matter of weeks.

I think it’s only natural that we get scared, of our pains, and of them mutating into something even more scary. This is a weird condition, and one that seems to affect every person differently, so there seem to be lots of unknowns - I know that fuels my anxiety for sure!

I basically just wanted you to know you’re not alone in having these fears. I also had a quick look into it online and it doesn’t look like FM can degenerate. So thankfully we just have to figure out how to cope with this condition only, I think that’s enough for me lol.

Best of luck,

Charlotte x

Hi Charlotte, I understand that fear and it is natural. However, I will very strongly encourage you to do your best to deal with it in a positive manner rather than allowing it to take over and last for hours. This isn't easy, I'm not saying it is. But if you allow the fear to run rampant in your body it causes quite a few changes in your body's functions from adrenaline to digestive function to heart rate and blood pressure, all of which is the worst possible thing for sufferers of fibromyalgia.

I recommend that you -- and anyone who has such fear attacks -- research ways to deal effectively with fear, with anxiety attacks and with panic attacks. Then the next time that fear comes on like that, do some of the things you have read about, and keep doing them. It takes practice ( know, I have done this) and at first it seems that no matter what you do the fear stays on, but you have to be persistent just as you do with anything new you are learning.

Remember that fear is always about something that actually has not happened yet. the nest time you fear you may lose the use of your legs, remember that and tell yourself that there's no point in harming your own body by allowing yourself to be terrified when the thing you are afraid of may not even happen.

I have tried marijuana for pain relief and insomnia. And the plus point was it helped me later have a peaceful undisturbed sleep. I develop this condition off and on, whenever I remember my truck accident, and marijuana really helps.

Just two grams of it and I am all fine by the next morning.
