Hello!
I am in the process of getting a more detailed diagnosis. I did all the blood tests, the HLA (a couple of positives but not the B27), in a couple of days I will get some X rays.
I was reviewing my tests and I was thinking about this pain I always had.
I feel a strong flu-like pain in my legs and back, often in my feet and arms too), and I suppose it's pretty typical.. but when I try to relax my quads and my knees something that feels like an unpleasant painful electric current comes up from my knees through my pelvis and up. I can summon this on command. I was wondering if anyone else feels something similar, no one I know ever felt it!

Have a good day!

Those "electrical" feelings are not uncommon with fibro. I have them in my legs. However, there are other things that can cause those besides fibro. It can be an indicator of nerve damage, or a pinched nerve, or other things, so it is important to get that specific thing checked out carefully with the appropriate doctor(s) to be sure it is not something that needs separate attention and/or treatment.

However, if you can summon it on command then I would suspect it is something controlled by your mind and is not a physical symptom at all. If what you mean to say is that it happens when you do a physical thing then you should get it checked out. I am not clear on what you mean my "when I try to relax my quads and my knees". Does this mean that unless you consciously try to relax your quad muscles and knees they are constantly tense?
Maybe a bit more information would help us to help you with this.

This sounds very much like a nerve entrapment issue.. nerves can be "trapped" or pinched by overly tense muscles and ligaments.. when you are consciously trying to relax those muscles, you are releasing that nerve, and that is where the electric like sensation comes from.

have you talked to your doctor about this? if not, you should. long term entrapment can eventually cause permanent damage..

Oh, then I should talk about it with my rheumatologist. I have that since I remember.. I'll look into some exercises that help with pinched nerves!;thanks!

I don't know if my muscles are always tense, probably they are, I can "summon" it on command concentrating on my quads, I don't really understand what I'm doing tho! Thanks!

Better neurologist, I'd think, or rather: I think you mean?
I'll look into some exercises that help with pinched nerves!
To find an exercise you could put 'pinched nerve quad exercise' in youtube.
Dunno if Bob & Brad's "Upper Thigh/ Leg Pain; From Pinched Femoral Nerve or Meralgie Paresthetica? Self-Test & Fix." is right for you? That comes up first for me.

I tried that last night! Didn't do anything for me but exacerbate my leg pain but it was just a first try!

Did the test work? It sounds as if the test would hurt and that would show that it's right.
And next time just the fix? But if that doesn't help (at low level) when you don't do the test beforehand, I wouldn't repeat it.
But you could then use the new terms "Meralgia Paresthetica" or "Pinched Femoral Nerve".
However Bob & Brad may be "famous", but often I find others better.
The German "famous" ones are Liebscher & Bracht, same goes for them.
I always like digging up more and more until I have some that work for me.
