I'm currently having neck and shoulders muscle rigidity and pains and tons of of headaches. Please what can I do to stop stop my muscles from hurting all over.

Try physiotherapy, massage therapy to help relax your muscles, relaxation like meditation and yoga.
I found high doses of good quality magnesium malate, vitamin d with D3 & K2 and B12 injections all helped me. But movement is very important if difficult.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I do exercise and if I miss a day the muscle tenses up again. The neck pain is excruciating and radiates down my arms with its attendant migraine. Is my life going to depend on exercise? I've never lived a day without pain for the past 7 years. I'm sorry for venting but I'm literally crying right now.
The drugs are not helping as much either, any natural remedy? food?

I feel your pain. My worst problem area for pain are my neck, shoulders and arms although I also get the migrating pains in other areas. I have yet to have a pain free day since this started. From all the reading I have done, people on drugs are still in pain. I am starting to realize that managing fibromyalgia is a many practices approach. I started to see some improvement when I took matters into my own hands and started researching, started working with a fitness trainer, a physiotherapist, a naturopath and massage therapy too. Some people swear by CBD oil but that did not work for me. I refuse to go down the drug rabbit hole so I continue to learn. Supplements that support your muscles seem to help. Sleep is another component of the fibro problems, without it your symptoms continue to be worst. I have used 5-HTP and Melatonin and it seemed to help a bit.
I have been reading studies on this drug that has been used to treat drug addiction. In low doses it seems to help fibromyalgia pain. I am still at the research stage but what I have read so far seems promising. The drug is Naltrexone. Here is the link to the studies. Look it up.
From reading what everyone is sharing on this forum, it seems that we will all be riding the fibro wave, up and down. Need to learn to manage it.

Hello dietary changes as well as supplements such as tumeric with curcumin, 5htp, vitamin D3, lemon balm, green tea with ginger all have helped. I also loosely follow the celery juice protocol. All of these things have helped more than the drugs without side effects. Unfortunately it’s trial and error with fibromyalgia. Exercise also is helpful even though we are already in pain.

Thanks Fatima and Rocky. I am glad to have you guys fill in the dotted lines for me. I'm currently on Amitriptyline, but battling with its attendant weight gain. I went off it for two days and the debilitating muscle stiffness returned with migraines. I will continue exploring alternative measures. I appreciate you all.

I can feel your pain cause I spend days crying because nothing can stop this specific pain, especially during flare-ups or weather changes... Even though I m on medical treatment, there are unbearable days due to the pain. However, I have to mention that fibromyalgia demands a group of activities which may help you:I attend group therapies,I have physiotherapies, massage,I exercise twice a week(I have to admit not always;I m in pain when I exercise or after so I often skip working out because I m frustrated)psychotherapy, swimming lessons. Therefore,it's a matter of combining therapies, treatments and approaches which are aligned to your personal type of symptoms. I was opposed to many of them but since I ve tried them I feel better or I can ease the pain when possible! Understanding is essential as well;I was looking for people to share common thoughts and matters since I feel that they can understand me better like when I see myself into others who have the same symptoms!

Thanks for the insight Fibrokate. I will explore those options as well. My whole body gets stiff when I wake up in the morning from bed rest. When I move I literally hear rusty sounds. The neck stiffness is over bearing and continues through out the day alongside headaches. I'm using neck massage and heat balm, but it's not doing much. What more can I do?

Hi, Moniks!
I think is a combination of things which might be proved beneficial. The one that plays major role in my personal experience is accepting new circumstances, dealing with them and staying positive-most of the times. I tried everything separately but it didn't work efficiently. For example, I started yoga but without trying meditation. Or I changed my diet but without considering my medication. So, I think that when I found the activities which suit me and my strengths as well as the combination of them, I had obvious improvement generally. When there are flare ups though I still have more difficulty dealing with all these, yet I have to admit that when I follow a schedule, daily routine activities or habits, I can see myself feeling much better.
Psychotherapy also helped me more than I could have imagined and avoiding stressful situation or toxic people. Stiffness is one of the hard parts but my overall routine and programme has benefited me a lot. I hope you ll find the things that improve this complex syndrome and relief much of your pain!Stay positive and be patient on the pursuit of the suitable combination!

I'm at my wit's end now. I no longer have flares routinely, rather it's constantly here with me. I think I have reached it's climax, the flareup symptoms are now constant. I struggle with this every minute of the day. Am in constant pain esp. my neck. Living each day has been difficult as meds and physiotherapy does help as much as they were. I'm a total wreck now. What more can be done?😢😢😢

Hello Moniks, have you read my post on managing fibro? I encourage you to do so and implement as many of those things as you can.
here is it:

If you haven't read this book I would give it a try:

Full Catastrophe Living: Using the Wisdom of Your Body and Mind to Face Stress, Pain and Illness by John Kabat-Zinn

Thanks, Affinity. I will see if the library has it. :)

Funny, I was watching a one hour philosophical dialogue with an awareness-specialist on Tuesday, then yesterday suddenly recognized his name as the author of your book-recommendation: Jon Kabat-Zinn...! I'm sceptical, having been disappointed by "Freedom from Pain" by Peter Levine, it was like: been/am there, done/do that. Maybe I should try it all the same?
