Hi guys! Time to vent again or else I might explode! This year I have to get a lot check ups done, been having throat ache for a bit and need to get that checked. I have the nasty habit of looking up symptoms online: bad idea!

I always end up getting nervious when I do that, but I end up doing it anyway. It seems the more I know the more worried I get! So I will be seeing a specialist to take a look at my throat and find out why it's been annoying me for so long, as well as checking why I get shortness of breath sometimes. I keep telling myself is nothing, bit then the worst case scenarios come to mind :(

I'm so tired of this, this year they diagnosed me with a complicated thing. So been up and down seeing a lot docs. Yet I'm not done! So tired! Wondering when I will be able to rest a bit, tired of facing those docs, some are soo difficult! Tired of going there and hope they listen to me and try to find out what's wrong.

BTW, as incredible as it might sound, nope, I haven't been able to get an appointment with the neuro before September! So I got the MRI results at home, but I've to wait :-(

Nothing wrong with venting! This is some nasty stuff to have to go through, and I'm sorry to hear that it's happening to you. :-(

As for looking up symptoms online... I learned the hard way with that and shocked myself out of doing it, so fortunately I no longer do that. Even when I probably should, I don't.

It's not just that most of those places can make an ear lobe ache sound like cancer or some horrible disease, but also because there is *so* much misinformation on the web. It's ridiculous. I figure I don't need to give myself anxiety over what could be totally wrong information.

I really hope that things soon get better for you, Trellum!

I feel much better now, Mariposa! Thanks for taking the time to reply! And you are soooooo right, those sites can make you worry about things like a throat ache being cancer or things like that! It's even worse when you do it at night, because then you will most likely go to bed thinking about that, similar to a hamster running inside one of those wheels!

Yes, it's absolutely worse at night. I don't have trouble falling asleep, but when I wake up at 2:30 or 3 and have stuff start to spin around in my head, it's so awful and how I hate it and there's no way to get back to sleep when that happens. And of course, the more I try to make myself stop it, the worse it gets. :-(

I'm very glad to hear that you're feeling better now!

hi there. First you need to show the scan results to your doctor if he has'nt recieved a copy.
If there is a problem, then he can get you an appointment with a specialist very quickly.
As for your sleepless nights. you need a pain reliever and a relaxant to calm you down.
Every night i take tramidol lp, this is for pain and is a long period one that lasts 6 hours
i take an anti depressant and zolpidem to de stress and make me relax and sleep , and i take 1000 mg of
paracetamol to take away the pain in the short term.(soluable type)

i read or listed to music with my phone and earplugs (that way i dont get disturbed by noises) and i will just
drift off to sleep when the zolpidem kicks in.
Although this gets me a good 6-7 hours sleep. i still have a nap for 1-2hours after a cup of coffee and a
breakfast snack when i first awake. so this routine achieves two things. first i get rest that my body needs
then i also get an early morning snack ( just serial and coffee , not a big fry up) and the nap gives me
a real boost and i don't feel so tired when i get up. although in all this means im in bed for a total of
9-10 hours minimum i do get a rest from being in constant pain.
It's not a cure, just a routine that helps. One important factor is that after the nap im ready to take on the day and do somthing no matter how small.
Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for the valuable piece of advice! Thanks a lot! Fortunately I already saw the doctor, I have diagnosis, but this arose more questions in my head. I'm now looking for a new doctor, one that is more willing to answer my questions. I might soon. I still have a lot things left to do, but I will be fine. Btw, that relaxant you take... Does it ever make you feel a bit odd? Like kinda nervous? I ask because my mom gets that when she takes hers. That's why I am staying away from them. But I might really see for myself and try.

Thank you :) At least now I know what was causing my headaches...

Uhm, that's tough! I hope it doesn't happen every night! It happens to me only when I am very anxious or worried about something. I wake up to pee often at night, if my anxiety levels are ok isn't so hard falling back asleep.

Have you tried a B complex?

I do the same thing. It may have actually saved my life in the long run. More than once I have researched my symptoms online and told my doctor I was online and wanted to be tested for "x" and I had it come back positive. I have a good doctor that listens, but I was the one who made the diagnosis. She ran the test, and wha la. I do freak myself out sometimes, too. But I like to go prepared and when the ball isn't rolling in my favor, I will give it a big push. I am glad you are feeling better and I hope things get even better for you soon.

I love venting too. Feels like I'm going to explode sometimes. Waiting for doctor appointments are the worst. It makes you so strung up and anxious. I had my share of doctors so I completely understand where you're coming from. What makes me mad is that it feels like the doctors I see all don't care about me. They seems to not care about looking into things and making you feel like you are important. They give you 5 minutes of their time, tell you to come back in a few weeks...why? I am billed $500 for each visit. It makes me so furious. He he, I vented a little as well.

Usually they get you in quickly if they see something serious,
this has been my experience,
Good luck

Thank you, lol! It's good to know there are other people who do the same! Ugh, the doctors rarely like it when you suggest a test, I have a GP who sounds a lot like your doctor, but sadly he can't run all the big tests, like for example a MRI :( I want to get a MRI of my spine. Actually I have done the diagnosis several times, thanks to the internet ;) Good to know I'm not alone :)

So sorry to hear that :( I get the very same feeling from most, if not all the doctors I see. Actually I often find myself suggesting tests I really feel I need, like the brain MRI. I had to see a few neurologists to finally get a MRI referral. Btw, it turns out I really needed it.

Doctors are jerks. Most of them at least. I used to have a friend who was a doctor, he was my doctor first, then my friend. He did care about his patients.

Thanks, it turned out not to be something too serious, but not completely clear. So glad I insisted on it.

Venting your thoughts and getting them out there can be very helpful. Sometimes you don't even realise what you're thinking and feeling yourself until you're able to put it into words and actually see it written there! You may find that you have a certain level of frustration related to your condition, because you're quite right it is very complicated. And also it is complicated further with the fact that almost every single patient with the condition will have a different story to tell. But you just have to carry on, if you don't feel that your current treatment is helping, ask your doctor if you would be allowed to change, and you should find that they have to help you. Try alternate therapies, there is an excellent sub forum on here all about those, you may find something that works really well for you, and that helps you to improve your life beyond what you currently think you're going to be capable of.

Hi! :D
Thanks for your advice on my post thought maybe Ill give some insight on some of the similar problems Ive been having and maybe they can correlate to you in a helpful way(s). Lately Ive been having terrible nights where I sleep 1 am or 3 am and sleep for 3 hours just to wake up tired and in bed another 5 hours like a zombie hoping o get better. The best thing to do is to relax the muscles even if youre in pain and something in your mind is telling you "theres something wrong and I must survive till I go to the doctors". You should walk for atleast 30 min take a hot bath and have to force yourself to meditate to sleep in almost a zen mindset. Obviously its not the cure but its a treatment. I know your pain Ive been having a hard time with fibro and the pain stimuli is so bad I cant even listen to music with getting a bad sensation but hopefully I can get better :D anyways thats my suggestion and hopefully you can get your self to relax even if your anxious about docttor appointments because your body deserves it!
