So I’ve been watching these symptoms as they come and go and couple months. Neck pain started back in 2018 and it has progressed. It hit out of nowhere. Had an X-ray done earlier this year and came back normal. But they out this year so will have time when neck pain hit, followed by headaches. I get the left breast/chest area pain that comes and goes. Pain in left arm/elbow area that sometimes travels to fingers. Shoulder pain. Today I’m having all of these plus calf muscle pain started 2 days ago. Wrist/Ankle pain. My neck crackles and it’s never done that before. Feeling foggy brain. Plus I have anxiety. I also have PVC’s (palpitation) that make anxiety worse cause now I’m thinking something wrong with my heart. It’s like all but out of nowhere. At one point I was thinking this is COVID.
Where should I start for a diagnosis? Feel like I’ll waste my time at my regular primary doctor.
I want to try a trazadone that I’ve was prescribed for anxiety. But I don’t like taking pills especially if all it’s going to do is make Me sleepy.

Hi Scarter, Depending on your insurance or lack thereof it may be necessary for you to get referrals from your primary doctor to see specialists, so start with finding out that much. If you think your primary doctor will scoff at your symptoms, see a different one. there are many things that could be causing your symptoms, and the only way to find out what is going on is to have the tests to rule out all of them, or to find one that fits.

After only two months, it could be something temporary. You may have fibromyalgia or you may have something else, and it's important to find out and not jump to any conclusions. Usually for most of us there's a fairly long period of having tests and doctor's visits before getting an actual diagnosis of fibro because of this. Usually this takes several months or even more than a year and that's if things move fast.
All I can recommend is to get started.

If you have problems with anxiety that is most likely causing your heart palpitations rather than your having a heart condition, but it would be good to get your heart checked in case.

Trazadone is not likely to help with any of the symptoms you mention unless they are caused by anxiety/depression or lack of sleep. So if you are reluctant to take that, listen to yourself and don't. Meantime you could read the post that is pinned at the top of the General section and see if any of that advice helps you, especially that which applies to managing your mental state.
Best of luck. We are here to help if we can.

Parallel to sunkacola's suggestions I'd try gentle forms of physio, like osteopathy (shopping around there too, if what they do hurts, but they need a bit of time to get to know your body).

Go see a cardiologist to rule out any issues. I have a slight mitral valve prolapse so I get palpitations from that once in a while. cut down on coffee. go see a neurologist. Sounds like you have nerve problems that might be coming from your neck. You need a MRI to be sure what is going on. I have a couple of discs that need replacement but I won't do it because anyone I know who has done it still in pain. I go for PT and it really helps. I get migraines and I get botox migraine injections. Ins pays for it and it works and sometimes I need trigger pt injections. Don't let them do steroid injections. Just tell them you want lidocaine with some maraine. Brain fog is part of fibro. Try some cordyceps and rhodiola in the am.

Everyone is different at some point. The symptoms you refer to are really part of fibromyalgia. However, see a doctor just to make sure. Cause we can never be certain.
