Where is the weirdest place you hurt? What are your strangest symptoms?

I had the same problem as you a few years ago. I thought it was a dental problem, visited my Dentist on several occasions in agony, but all was well with my teeth and gums. I was eventually referred to a specialist at hospital, I had several appointments and was given a mouth guard in case I was grinding my teeth. Believe me when I say that made my pain a lot worse! Then on my next appointment the guy checking my mouth asked a colleague to have a look, it turned out that the nerve in my right cheek was so tense it was that that had been causing my pain! The solution he suggested was Botox!!!! I was stunned by that, a few weeks later ( after much thought) I decided to give it a try. I won't go into to the details of how it was administered, as may put you or anyone else off, I can honestly say I made the right choice and it did the job for me!!!!

I've got a weird one at the moment. I've had costochondritis-type rib pain on and off for a long time, but this week I'm getting sharp pains at the base of my breast bone - at the xiphoid process, which is the little lump of bone on the bottom of the sternum. That's new 🙄 and annoying! Had anyone else felt that?
Yeah I’ve had that before, but it seemed to heal. Hopefully other parts do soon as well, and hope you feel better

yes!!! I have had that exact symptom!! I checked it out with my doctor with no help! It goes away eventually……

weird pain is in the back of my head like a headache
I get that at night when I'm trying to relax but I've always blamed it on my blocked sinuses which also always start early evening
- if I remember rightly, both listed in the '251 Fibromyalgia Symptoms' as previously posted on this forum.
Never a dull moment eh?! x

hair pain. I feel so crazy, but yes, like...I can feel the hair resting on my arms, and sometimes I can feel the air moving it, and thats insane, cause you cant feel that right? but I do...sometimes I hate feeling.
I kinda know what you mean, though mine manifests as feeling I've got an insect walking on my skin & at first I really thought it was,
so I jumped & attempted to swat things off that weren't there.
Eventually, I realised that the sensation turned out to be going on under my skin, especially on the backs of my hands & my forearms.
Yes, it's a weird sensation but now I've sort of got used to it & don't react anymore, just put it down to another Fibro Fluke & ignore it.

My latest 'weirdness' is getting a loud heartbeat in my ears & this also starts at night when I'm trying to relax & was quite scary at first,
especially when my heart started missing a beat & my pulse likewise when I lay on my right side & my night time pulse is very low.

It was scary enough for me to embark on an intrepid lengthy mission to see one of my G.P.s, (there seems to be lots of them now as it's someone I've never seen before every time I've been) but trying to see one at all is almost impossible here in the UK since Covid.

Anyway, after making a fuss & refusing to give up, I finally got sent to the 'Cardiac Clinic' at my doctor's surgery & was told by a youth in a white coat, who did nothing other than briefly listen to my heartbeat, even when I told him it always happened at night when I was lying down & ignoring the fact it was daytime & I wasn't lying down etc, he pronounced it 'was probably linked to Fibromyalgia' & showed me the door.

My blocked sinuses (and burning pressure there) at night, esp. since my jab,
I'm putting down to histamine (fits by feeling 'allergic', like hay fever).
My antidote is to increase GABA, which I found out by trying when I read it histamine lowers GABA.
When I feel it coming on, I take the next GABA-dose a bit earlier.
There are also supp and dietary ways of decreasing histamine, which I'm also doing.

As I said or wanted to say on the bio-/neurofeedback thread:
If I concentrate on this, that reinforces it, a vicious circle.
Instead I make sure I lie in a way that I hear it as little as possible, i.e. ear away from pillow, that usually helps quickly,
and if necessary do a relaxation exercise that pulls my attention away from it, e.g. (Ally's) yoga nidra.

Thanks Lemon! It did go away in the end, but it's really comforting to know that someone else has experienced that too - it seemed like a weird one!

I have numbness all over, but strangest place would be my right eye. its not necessarily painful, but very uncomfortable and it feels like its not even there sometimes.

another weird one... not being able to feel when wiping after using the washroom
