Hi Everyone,

I am a life and health coach and was diagnosed with fibro about 4 weeks ago. I also have a full-time job and am on short term disability. My short term disability was suspended because I was told my fibro symptoms are all subjective and not objective. So now I am not getting paid.

It has been difficult to find a rheumatologist with an interest in fibromyalgia in the NW suburbs of Illinois, so if you know one please let me know.

I have actually been having chest muscololoskeletal pain for a couple of years and last year had a total hysterectomy and then had an auto accident three days for my surgery. Someone rear ended me at a traffic light.

After that incident and surgery I had excruciating pain all over and my gynecologist was of no help. She basically thought it was in my head and said "I don't understand why you are having so much pain and stress, suck it up we all have issues and stress and learn to deal with it".

I immediately changed doctors.

Each day I wake up in excruciating pain, have fibro fog and can't sleep. As I write this post I have been up without sleep since 1:00 am CST this morning and the time is now 2:04 p.m.

I am thankful to be a part of this group.

This really makes me see RED. Everything is stress related or in
your head if they don't know or understand what it is or how
to treat it! I go to a pain management clinic. They are listed in
phone book. A doctor runs the group and does the diagnosis.
I have been in pain for years. Have been diagnosed with fibro
for over 25 yrs. and finally I have some relief,
Your MD would have to refer you. I am on pain patches and
at at last i have some relief from the pain
GOOD LUCK

Hi,
I am Suzie and just posted as a new member to the Forum myself.
Nice to meet you.
So sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with fibro. I, myself was diagnosed in 2004. At first I thought it was a joke. Just a little pain and flu like symptoms. HA! Yeah right! It progressively got worse, much worse. Here I am now at 53 years of age with pain in places that I never would have thought possible. My vagina! Are you serious? Are you kidding me? My forearm where my trigger point is, is making it unable for me to have range of motion in my left arm. X-ray showed nothing. (of course) go home with anti-inflammatories and physio. Thanks a lot!
Anyway about you. Like you I was involved in an auto accident last year and after that, well my neck has not been the same. It hurts like heck at night in bed to turn my head. I know it only exacerbated the fibro. So I feel your pain.
What I have done of late is asked my GP to refer me to a pain management specialist in Ottawa. I am waiting on them to call me. No more fooling around. I need some relief and some sleep. That is my advice to you. And why do doctors think that all patients are going to turn in to ADDICTS! That really offends me! Really pisses me off. Sorry I get really mad about that. Anyway good luck. I mean that. Take care of yourself. Take hot baths in the meantime. Don't give up. I use a heating pad when I am at the computer for my back all the time and also my husband rubs my back with A535 and it really relieves a lot of the pain.
