Hi everyone, thanks for taking a moment to read my post. I'm a 35 year old otherwise healthy woman.

For the past 1 1/2 years I have been dealing with weird episodes that come and go. The episodes seem to appear out of the blue (are not triggered by stress or any other thing I can identify), and can last anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks. During an episode, I get a lot of all-over body pain (my neck is the worst, but I also get it in my upper and lower back). Also foot cramps. I also get mild headaches, feel dizzy, and fatigued. During the episodes only, my eyes burn and are painful and appear red. The strange thing about all of this is I sleep fairly well, and the more sleep I get the worse the symptoms are. From what I understand, people with fibromyalgia don't typically sleep well? I do for the most part, and have lots of dreams. My brain function is off during these times as well- I have a hard time thinking and forming thoughts. I have seen 3 doctors for this and have had pretty much every blood test under the sun including for autoimmune problems like lupus (all normal) and an MRI. A neurologist examined me and said I appear normal and don't require and further neuro work-up. All of this started after I stopped taking an SNRI medication for mild anxiety called Effexor. Prior to that, I had never had these types of episodes or anything like this at all. None of the doctors I have seen have mentioned fibromyalgia- they have no idea what could be going on with me. Does anyone think this could be fibromyalgia? Or, does anyone think the Effexor I took did some kind of harm to my body and it's still sorting itself out (since I never had any of these problems before taking it)? Thank you so much for your time!

How long was u on the Effexor.? I don't really think a anti depressant would do that to u for a year and a half.
Have u asked your Dr about fibro?.i was on. Mine for five years when I come off them and I was fine .

I took the Effexor for 6 months. I didn't ask my doctor about fibro, because I didn't know much about it until I started to do my own research trying to figure out what is going on with me. I have read about a lot of people feeling bad (not emotionally but physically) for months after stopping an antidepressant, which is what got me wondering if there could be a link here.

searching. thanks for the post.

Effexor: you see the commercials on TV for that drug.

have you ever wondered why they have a TV commercial for it? they dont have a commercial for morphine.

once its on TV, the doctors have stopped prescribing it. some do continue. as they get kick backs from each prescription they write.

the drug has very damaging affects. sometimes the body cant repair that damage.

folks if its on TV its dangerous!

Lyrica took my left eye and i was unaware that it could do that. i thought well my doctor knows what the side effects
are. well he thought that blurry vision was worth the help that the med would do to block the signals to the brain.

being in pain and becoming blind is not worth it. my eye is still getting worse. i havent been on that drug in over 3 years.
the side effects do damage.

why do they keep prescribing it? kick backs and the FDA has approved the drug. they look it up in the american medical association book
and its there. so they do what the book says. the book is law.

i want you to read my post what is fibromyalgia. all the symptoms are there.

you may very well have fibro. the blood tests are all negative. the doctors have not done the tender points test for fibro on you.
you may have doctors that dont believe in fibro as well. you need to ask them if they believe. go online and find the tender point test and
have someone do that test on you. this way you will know.

i hope i have answered your question.

please if you have more questions, ask them here. We have many folks that live with fibro everyday. we have all done research
for years and we know what its like to have it. what helps and what doesnt help.

just remember that everyone's body is different and they process drugs and other things differently.

thanks for posting your question. it helps many that read and have that same question.

Its fibro for sure. Your story exactly the same like mine. Neck shoulder pain cramp blur eye fatigue. Need 10 year before a doctor diagnosis me with fibro. Its very long tough journey. Go to rheumatolog or nerve specialist. Tell them check for tender point.
