I am new to this forum. Very happy to have found it. I was diagnosed over ten years ago. I gave my full story under the new member thread. Anyway, I am having a very difficult time with the pain, fatigue and brain fog for quite some time now. I have been to several specialists who have now referred me to pain management. The issue is that I am not currently having any form of treatment and when I called to schedule an appointment with pain management the earliest available appointment they had was for late August. I scheduled this back in March and am now at the point that I just can't take it anymore. I have endured this for many years trying alternative measures and I am at the point that diet, exercise, soaking and vitamins are just not cutting it.
I am a mother of 3, and a wife to a very busy executive so I simply cannot be functioning at this level for much longer. I do not have the help of family or friends and my husband is busy with work so I am on my own. I am hoping that there may be someone on this forum that may be familiar with a specialist or pain management center in my area or close to it, that they would reccomend.
As I had explained in my intro thread, my pcp cannot be of any help as he does not believe in Fibromyalgia as being a legitimate disorder. I know...time for a new pcp.
I live in Western mass so anywhere in that vicinity will work for me. Even another state. I am 20 minutes from new York and Vermont. Even Connecticut or new Hampshire would be fine. My area is limited with physicians. Just finding a new pcp has not been easy. There aren't any good ones taking new patients. My fingers are crossed that someone out there can help.
