Well, um, hello! So, I'm Tabi, been diagnosed since I was 16 years old, and moved from Arizona to Indiana, which was a huge mistake when it comes to pain. My new doctor refuses to give medication for my FM or my bipolar disorder, epilepsy or my syncope (fainting disorder), even though he has the medical records showing I need it, and has stated that he knows that I have both, he just doesn't feel 'right' giving me the meds that I was on for the last um, 15 years. So, I'm suffering. I"m severely allergic to ibuprofen, acetaminophen, and aspirin. I can take Aleve, but only small quantities before I get sick from it. He wants me to go to a specialist, but, has been taking his time with 'finding' a specialist in my area.

Over the years I've tried just working out, or eating right, but neither worked. When I was diagnosed, I was 125lbs. They said it was because I was so skinny. So, I gained 25 lbs. The pain didn't make a difference, so I started eating right and exercising to lose the weight. That's when they found out I was epileptic. Apparently, my body doesn't hold sodium like it should, so, when I was trying to limit the sodium levels, my body started seizing. Yay me.

tl;dr I know. So, here I am, trying to take apple cider vinegar with the mother (taking it in pill form because the liquid was enough to make me gag). And, it's not really doing anything, but I promised my dad I'd take the whole stupid bottle.

Oh, and I'm the crazy cat lady (3 cats) with a overbearing pitbull who is scared of said cats. But, all 4 are my life. Don't have kids, can't have kids, these are my kids. And I'm damn proud of them!

Welcome Tabi,

Sorry you are in this fix. I have found that you must do most the work, like finding a specialist, and then running it by your DR. They often don't care as they are not the ones in pain!
I'm in AZ, (born and probably will die). I thought there is a renowned hospital in IN. maybe you could call there and get some names.
Am glad you are not alone, the furbabies are so wonderful at keeping us up, laughing, loving, cuddling.
Would your Dr. in AZ make a call to your new one if needed?
Just throwing out ideas. Hope soon you will be on your way with the specialist-or perhaps finds a new PCP altogether!

Ugh, I wish. He wasn't able to find anyone when he was looking around himself. He said that Indiana sucks with fibromyalgia and behavioral health. Which, I'm learning quite quickly. Also, I'm bad at over exerting myself. I'll overdo it on everything for days and days and then pay for it in the end. Like right now. Worked in the yard, cleaned the house, burned some firework, cleaned the garage, and now I feel like I got hit by a truck. Sigh.
