1sweed you made me smile so thank you. Yes I suppose it was like camping. We finally got the hot water running again so that is awseome. I have to head back to work until Monday. So I am beat by the time I get home. But the good news is more work means a better paycheck. My pains lately have been in my hip running down to my thigh. This is a new one for me, so I am not sure what is going on there. I actualy can't lay down to much or put pressure on the right side of my hip and leg. But as the day has gone on it is feeling better.

Good Day To You All!

SulaBlue, You made me hungry for steak. And Libragirl, :) I am glad you got your hot water back. and glad too your job is going well. Hey there twiztc, whats up with you?

My day was the one of being lazy. I slept in late and then sat around watching movies and eating. My kind-hearted neighbor shoveled the snow out of my driveway, but I didn't go anywhere. We got more snow tonight so the roads are covered again. It has been a long week for me and I think the cold air is harder on me then when it's up in the 40 degree range.

It has been quiet and restful, but tomarrow I have to go back out into the world again. Sometimes, I feel like burrowing down in a hole and waiting for spring to arrive. How about you? Don't think it would work, but it sounds like a good plan. lol :)

Libragirl - glad to hear you got your hot water back!

1sweed - I'm in Texas, It's -always- time for steak! Beef, it's what's for dinner!

Today was a busy, busy busy day. Waking up at 3 am did not help in the least :(

Rheumatologist's appointment at 9:30 am. X-rays all clear, oddities in blood work but just something to keep an eye on rather than worry too much about. Then to get husband's parking pass (I sat in the car with the windows down and watched the birds) and then lunch at Spaghetti Warehouse. From there it was a quick trip to Whole Foods to pick up some tea that I like - all the handicap spots were full AND they had the handicap sidewalk cut blocked off as they were repainting it, grr!. We didn't go up and down all the aisles, just around the outside edge because we forgot tea was over with the cheese, not with the bottled tea and soda, or we'd have just come in that door! Then we went next door to Trader Joe's and my husband went in without me to pick up some soap he really likes from there as well as some raw-milk cheddar they have that I really like. We realized there was a Birkenstock store, and I stopped and got my first pair of REAL Birk's, and OMG, are they soooo comfy with the built in arch support. Pricy, but worth it!

After that it was to the Spine & Pain Specialist. My appointment was at 2:30 but they told me to come in at 2 as a new patient, not realizing I'd already downloaded and filled out the entire new patient packet (Hello, internet age, folks!). I didn't get to see the doctor until 4 pm and she went over my x-rays and CT scan and gave me a couple of referrals and asked for a new CT scan but didn't actually DO anything as far as an immediate treatment, so I'm kinda bummed there.

Good Day To You All!

SulaBlue, Hello to another healthfood fan. I try to buy a lots of stuff from Trader Joes, online, and our local natural food stores around here. I like a lot of different teas like green tea and blueberry tea, and berry teas. I like spearmint tea to, as some friends of mine drink it a lot.

Sounds like you got some good reports and wasted time with the new Spine Specialist. I always hate going to a doctor that charges a lot of money, then does not seem to do anything new that shows there are improving your condition. You will know if it is worth it by the second visit.

Today was another lazy day of typing and watching movies. Do you have a favorite movies that you can watch again and again, and never get tried of it? My favorites are SeaBiscut and Lonesome Dove I & II, The horse Whisper. I guess you can tell I love horses. Also love watching the movie The Lord of the Rings.

Anyways it is still really cold here and I am looking forward to going to bed tonight, were it will be warmer. there seems to be a cold air blowing tonight that makes the upstairs feel much colder than normal.

See you all tomarrow....Bye For Now.

1sweed - on the upside she referred me to therapy, and to get into therapy you have to have a referral, so there's that. She even managed to get one that's on my insurance, whoo whoo!

Hi all. Nice to see a few more visitors round our fireplace.
Last few days I've had a murderous headache and after spending all day at a computer I haven't really spent more than a few minutes on the forum for a quick quip as it's really affected my eyes. I've kept myself busy around the house today to try and take my mind of it but it's still pretty bad. I'm hoping it's gone by Monday or work is gonna be hell again.
On the upside I feel spring is in the air(yep Sweeds that's my fave time of year with summer a close second ) I have cleared out all the junk out of my guest room so now in my spare time I can start prepping it for repainting. It will take me a while but I will enjoy it.
Hubby put a new blind up over the patio door so that even I can raise it up. The old one was a fake wood jobby that only someone with Arnie muscles could get up to the top!
I also cleaned up my dining room too. Has been a busy day. Now I'm knackered and it's getting late so bed time for me.
Goodnight

Good Day To You All!

Well twiztc, Sounds like your getting the jump on spring cleaning and redoing, with painting your guest bedroom. I hope you are feeling better and your headache is gone. I like your idea of more folks around the fireplace. I think we are all feeling warm and fuzzy here! lol
SulaBlue, Good deal. Hope it all continues to work in your favor.

Today, I spend with my mom visiting. I found things that were lost and made us a pot of fresh coffee, and we watched tv and talked about life and how time changes and people come and go out of our lives. Did you every notice how friends come and go, or we just lose touch with folks everytime we move. I have good friends in Florida and in Pa, I have not seen or heard from in a long while. Does that happen to you too? Seems kind of sad, but again we only have so many minutes in one day to visit friends and make phone calls, or send e-mails, between trying to get everything else done. Not enough hours in a day to do it all.

Got home and watched a movie and started writing on computer. Now here I am again sharing my day with you. Hope you had a good one.

I had a lazy day today. Head a little better but the damn thing still refuses to go away.
The sun came out for a while and. I enjoyed watching the antics of the squirrels and blue jays on our deck.
Not really much to speak of so I won't waste anymore webspace.
Take care friends

Good Day To You All!

I am a little late tonight as I had my young nephew today. He is so much fun for this old lady to enjoy. We talked awhile and watched a movie till his dad came to pick him up. Young children are always such a blessing, that is before us old people becoming boring to them. lol
Then after he left I got some housecleaning done and had my supper before trailing off to the computer.

I have to get my garden planned out here pretty soon and get some plants ordered. I want to plant some rhubarb roots and some blueberry bushes and decide what type tomatoes I want to plant. I am thinking about some cherry tomato plants. Also thinking about planting some strawberries if I can figure a way to keep the squirrals and chipmunks out of them. Some kind of fencing that will work.

Anyways, it is bedtime now so I will see you all later today after a long nights rest. :)

1sweed - Now, the trick is to get them thinking doing the house cleaning for you is fun. My grandmother had one of those cordless sweeper-style carpet cleaners that were basically a rotating brush and a dust bin, no suction at all. But I was CONVINCED that this thing was the coolest toy in the house and would sit and run it all over the house!

RE: strawberries - it's no guarantee, but maybe hanging pots on a shephard's hook away from anything the squirrels and chipmonks can easily jump from? And grease the pole so they can't climb up it (that alone is hours of entertainment right there!). We planted some succulents and some black cherry tomatoes and stevia, and I'm already finding that squirrels have been digging in the pots, dag nabbit.

Lazy day for me again today though. I really just did too much last Friday and Saturday. I did get up and straightened up a little bit before the maintenance guy came to replace the florescent light bulbs in the kitchen that went totally out on Friday night (5 minutes after the leasing office closed, of course!). He's a new maintenance guy and I really like him. He was even nice enough to go get me a nut from his supply of nuts and bolts to replace the screw knob on my walker. I called the company that sells the walker about getting a new knob for the bolt that holds the handlebar at the correct height. You unscrew the knob to adjust it. They wanted $15, probably plus shipping and handling (I didn't ask! I was too busy laughing!), and it was going to take a few weeks to get it to me. A simple nut of the sort you can buy for a couple of pennies at best does the job just fine, and he was even nice enough to bring a wrench along with him and fixed it right up for me.

I found out like so many things my physical therapy isn't covered until I meet my insurance deductible. On the other hand the lady at the rehab place that does aquatherapy was real nice and didn't make me jump through hoops. She just told me straight up what their contract rate is, and it's not much worse than going to a chiropractor and less than many massage therapists, so hubby said I can go on either Wednesday or Thursday afternoon. Yay! The lady at the rehab center said they wouldn't make me come multiple times a week, but would show me what I need to do so I can do it in any pool. The local pool offers a 16-punch card for $46, which would be 8 trips with my husband in tow, and we could do it on the weekends.

Well we finally got hot water back a few days ago. The bad part though is that they must have damaged a pipe. Because we just found out there was a pipe leaking and it destroyed the carpet and padding in the spare bedroom. Hopefully the actual wood part of the floor is salvagable. Other then that things have not been to bad. My pain is under control for right now. So I am taking advantage of it and getting things done around the house. And getting prepared for our Easter family day.

I seem to have a yukky cold. Probably why the headache at the tail end of last week. I just had to get through yesterday and today and then I'm booked off till Monday. WooHoo
got lots I want to do but whether I get round to it is another matter. I'll just play it by ear.
This afternoon was gloriously sunny and that always makes me smile.

Sweedy, keep on planning, that's the most funny part.
SB , love the hanging idea, made me chuckle thinking of squirrels up greasy poles.
Libra, Glad you got hot water, I hope the damage is easily fixed

Good Day To You All!

Actually SulaBlue, In Florida, we did the greased pole to feeder idea. It was so funny watching then try to climb the pole and sliding back down to the ground. The ones that would climb on something else and take a flying leap to the pole only to slide were priceless. The looks on their faces and then trying to get the grease off their feet was amusing too. We had to put a upside down cone on the pole as well to stop them.

And I like your idea of hanging the strawberries up on hooks to stop squirrels and chipmunks. Think I am going to do that one. I was going to hang cherry tomatoes as well.

Libragirl, Sorry to hear your plumbing leaked, but hopefully it will work out just fine.

Twiztc, Hope you feel better soon.

Today was a beautifully cold sunny day. I took a short drive and then went to visit mom and we looked at old pictures and talked about when she was growing up. It was a nice long visit and then I came back and had a good meal and watched a movie. Now I have been typing for a spell and decided to come here and type some more. This morning I was watching video's on youtube. I like picking topic's at random and seeing what I can find. Do you like doing that? I was watching stories about animals in Florida and all the exotic species that are making a mess of problems in the woods and in towns and cities. Some of the areas are so beautiful.

Till tomarrow....Bye for now!

1sweed - OH! That reminds me! There's a strawberry thing a lot like the Topsy Turvy for tomatoes. I don't know how good it is. We have one, but never managed to catch strawberry plants when the garden center had them.

Had a rather frustrating day today, ended up n a good, long crying jag. I'm probably going to turn in here shortly. Just so frustrated with all the doctors and trying to schedule appointments around when my husband can take off work, and is insurance going to cover XYZ, and a rehab center that tried to hard-sell me. Ugh.

I had a good day... still in pain but strangely felt ok about it.
Went and met up with my ladies at the pool and for a solid hour they had me laughing so hard I nearly wet myself!
I think it was that, that set me up for the rest of the day. It tried to snow again today but the six degrees kept the flakes from gaining ground.
I went door shopping (well just scouting) at home depot and indulged my love of powertools but drooling at their selection. I'd really like a compressor with nail gun to save my wrists from swinging a hammer on my little jobs I like to do. Would come in handy for some little craft projects I have in mind too. I always fancied having a go at airbrushing too.
I like to dream.
Managed to get a bit of grocery shopping done too before I started running out of steam and headed home.
After I have got round to redecorating my guest room I want change my room around. I've got this neat computer program where you can plan out a whole house so I'm working on just my room. It's a good way to see if I can fit everything in.
But right now I'm having a well earned rest watching Buffy.
Hope you all had a good day
