Hi! Im Laila and im 33. I have a two year old son.
About a year after I had my son I noticed changes. I would get nauseated for no reason.
I was trying moderate exercise with some diet changes and I put weight on.
I then started getting daily headaches, which often turned into migraines and would be in bed for two days.
I have dairy sensitivities.
I have sleep disturbances where it takes me ages to fall asleep and stay asleep.
I experience an afternoon lull, often ending up on the lounge.
I get brain fog and say jumbled things.
I have been diagnosed as a pre diabetic, with low hormones and a low thyroid (those levels though are with in the normal range) as well as low iron.
I recently found out my body can't tolerate sugar, and turns it into fat which is why I can't loose weight, and my naturopath wants me on a low gi diet to help balance insulin.
I have chronic pain in my left hip that has stayed with me for over a year, and it's so bad I can't even lay on it. I get deep aching pain that can radiate, and in the mornings my legs are stiff and sore like I have been running a marathon, and at the moment I am experiencing jaw pain. If I cross my legs and get up, I'm stiff and sore.
After I wake up from the nights sleep, I feel unrefreshed even if I have had an 8 hr sleep.
Most recent symptom has been my pulse. I think I am having a flare up as I missed some sleep last week. When I sit, its about 60. When I stand and walk around for about 10/15 minutes it jumps from 122 to 144 beats a minute. This never normally happens.

Has any or all of this happened to you guys?
Thanks

I have THE SAME SYMPTOMS!! Most days I am nauseated, BP changes back and forth. No matter how much I sleep, I NEVER feel rested. Fibromyalgia has the same exact symptoms as MS. My deceased wife had progressive MS and we had the same symptoms and took the same medications. She was mis-diagnosed with Fibromyalgia for 13 years. They did more extensive testing when she lost her sight in one eye and found it was MS all those years.

I am so so sorry about your wife. That would have been so heartbreaking! :(
Not being refreshed after a nights sleep is killing me, especially with a very active 2 year old.
I could go to bed when he does (some nights at 7 or eight) and have a full 12 hr sleep AND still wake the next day feeling like I need to go back to bed and often do!
When my partner is not at work i hand my son to him and go sleep because its the only time I get an extra change to get extra sleep

When I was nauseated I thought I was pregnant I wasn't
nausea continued for a whole year
we thought it was the pill, which we agreed to stop
it wasn't the pill as i still get bouts of nausea

Bp seems fine, its mainly my pulse
And hubby wants me to go for further testing to make sure that Im not type 1 or 2 diabetic.

Some of those symptoms can be caused by fibro, but sadly they could be caused by other things... I mean, I have fibro, but I also have other issues that cause me neurological symptoms. It's great you are actually seeing a doctor to check those other health issues you have, I am also pre diabetic and have issues losing weight :( Best of luck to you!

Hi!

I have been back to my doctor who wants to do a few more things before refering me to a rheumatoid person to properly diagnose me, as he re rean another lot of bloods which all came back normal.
My doctor said we are heading in the direction of Fibromyalgia defiantly as majority of my new blood tests came back normal.

laalaa, Sounds to me like your thyroid could be the cause of some of this. You said it is low, but low or high numbers can wreak havoc on the body. I went through 4 doctors before I found one to really help. He said he treats the person, not the numbers. It took some time but now have it under control. Have you pursued this?

HI laalaa
sorry to hear of your pain. I Know how horribly frustrating it is to not know what it wrong with you. It does sound a lot like fibro. But it could be your thyroid too. And you may have more than one thing going on. I think people with fibro often have more than one condition. or it affects more than even the doctors know of now. I hope you get some relief soon. Try some gentle stretching a few times a day, and get a heating pad and try ice too. Just see what works best for the moment. I make dried ginger chips and just suck on them a bit for my nausea. I slice them very thin, coat with honey or unprocessed sugar and put in dehydrator or on lowest oven temp until dried. You can also buy them in most stores or online. Or make a ginger honey tea. And it may sound strange but I will get a spoon full of peanut butter or peanut butter and crackers and a Tylenol migraine pill at the first sign of a headache, it will sometimes really help. If you don't want to take meds drink something with caffeine in it,but not too much, it can make it worse . hope some of this helps. Just know you're not alone in your struggle and it does help to have others that understand your pain.
Good luck Lloue

Hello lloue,
I'v wondered myself if I might have any MRI's on her brain for lesions in the 13 yrs. that prior to her actual diagnosis? It's uncanny how closely related that symptoms are of MS and fibro. I haven't been officially diagnosed with fibro yet even though I have so many symptoms that are very typical of fibro but at this point I don't seem to have the major fatigue and I sleep well at night (I take sleeping pills and I'm sure the gabapentin helps too). I have to wait until October to get into the Nuerosurgeon because a few of the specialist I've seen had hinted that I should get checked to cancel out MS.

Sorry about the misplaced sentences, I'm typing while laying on my back (just one way of finding relief). Also did your wife have any relatives with it? I know from the research I've done that typically it is often based of hereditary.
