Re: Need help with painfull feet

Hi Cottonsocks,

I'm sorry your having such painful feet.
Since I have had fibromyalgia my feet have become increasingly painful.
Especially by the heel but radiating under foot too.
I was diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis.if u want to look it up u can read about it.
Many fibromites have it. It is an inflammation of the fascia on the bottom of your feet. It starts st the heel and runs along the bottom of the foot

Most of the time with this , there is more pain in the morning when u arise. I have had mine for 3 years now and it occurs all day.
When it first started I went to the podiatrist and he gave me a steroid shot, which if u have fibromyalgia pain. It won't bother u at all. It went away for 5 years. After that it's been back and I have multiple shots in a period of time and they help the discomfort.

Another thing is ice, you can use one of those blocks that u put in a cooler. I keep in the freezer and massage the bottom of my foot for 15 minutes. And by the next day the pain has decreased significantly.

There are exercises online to stretch that area of the foot so I would do a search and do them everyday.

If it is Plantar Fasciitis otherwise wait.

If not I would just topical creams to help with pain. And try to stay off them as much as possible.

And see your Podiatrist as soon as u can. Be pushy and tell them your in a lot of pain.It could be something else but u need to get it diagnosed , so u can treat it right

I hope this helped
Feel better and let us know

Re: Need help with painfull feet

Many thanks for your advice, i will look into as i have no faith in my doctor, saw her today and she rushed me through the appointment. Iv not started my amitriptyine as i only got it today, she said this will help it, she didnt even read my notes from my specialist........

Re: Need help with painfull feet

Sounds like u need to switch drs.
If there not compassionate or concerned, it's time to switch.
It's sad how some drs became drs to take care of people and just don't care!
You need to see a podiatrist not an internal medicine Dr if u need any injections in your feet.
Hope it works out
We have to keep trying until we find what works.

Re: Need help with painfull feet

I swear - some docs see the word fibromyalgia and turn their heads. Have them write chronic myofascial pain on your records or change the words. Stupid but that's what my pain mgt doc did (who I LOVE!). Even insurance seemed to respond differently. Something to think about...

Beyond that - two things that help me foot-wise - elevate your feet WHENEVER you can - even for a few seconds to get the blood rushing away from them. The other thing has been rolling a frozen juice can under my foot. Kinda like a massage but also taking away some of the burning too. I just wish I could do that on the ceiling somehow! LOL I don't feel like I'm walking on the hot coals - I feel like I have the hot coals in my feet! UGG it's the worst pain I have. It's so bad some days that I fall when I stand up in the morning. Good luck.

Re: Need help with painfull feet

I too have this pain, but I started taking Gabapentin and oh boy does it help. It still hurts when I first stand up, but the rest of the day they don't hurt at all. I hated starting to take another Med but if it helps the pain I'll take it after 10 years of pain I just figure I have nothing to lose. Good luck finding your remedy.... it can be very frustrating if you don't have the right doctor it took me eight years to find the doctor I have now and she is wonderful
