Hi everyone, thanks for taking a moment to read my post. I'm a 35 year old otherwise healthy woman.
For the past 1 1/2 years I have been dealing with weird episodes that come and go. The episodes seem to appear out of the blue (are not triggered by stress or any other thing I can identify), and can last anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks. During an episode, I get a lot of all-over body pain (my neck is the worst, but I also get it in my upper and lower back). Also foot cramps. I also get mild headaches, feel dizzy, and fatigued. During the episodes only, my eyes burn and are painful and appear red. The strange thing about all of this is I sleep fairly well, and the more sleep I get the worse the symptoms are. From what I understand, people with fibromyalgia don't typically sleep well? I do for the most part, and have lots of dreams. My brain function is off during these times as well- I have a hard time thinking and forming thoughts. I have seen 3 doctors for this and have had pretty much every blood test under the sun including for autoimmune problems like lupus (all normal) and an MRI. A neurologist examined me and said I appear normal and don't require and further neuro work-up. All of this started after I stopped taking an SNRI medication for mild anxiety called Effexor. Prior to that, I had never had these types of episodes or anything like this at all. None of the doctors I have seen have mentioned fibromyalgia- they have no idea what could be going on with me. Does anyone think this could be fibromyalgia? Or, does anyone think the Effexor I took did some kind of harm to my body and it's still sorting itself out (since I never had any of these problems before taking it)? Thank you so much for your time!
