At the same time each day at work, I get an overwhelming urge to lie down. It feels like there's no blood getting to my head, like I'm going to pass out, I start getting a horrible headache. I feel shaky and can't think a coherent thought to save my life. This feeling gets worse and worse until by the time I get home, all I can do is crawl to the couch and lie there for at least an hour before I can do anything else.
My first thought was low blood sugar, because it's around lunch time that this feeling begins. But no amount of eating, timing of eating, or kind of food seems to make the slightest difference. Then I thought it might be low blood pressure, so I've tried compression stockings. No difference. I checked my bp during this time, and it was fine.
The only thing that helps is lying down, preferably with my feet up, but I can't do that at work. This "gotta lie down now" feeling is horrible and it's affecting my job performance. I must keep my job, as I'm a single mom.
Does anyone know what this feeling is caused by or does anyone have any tips or remedies that don't involve lying down on the job, literally?
Thanks.
