I don't know what to call it, it isn't the same as most headaches I've had, but it can turn into a migraine when in the proper environment (loud, bright lights). I have this very mild pain in my right side of my head, my neck is sore on that side too, and it hurts when I lay down or move my head a certain way. Sometimes it tingles too. Very strange sensation. I don't know if I should be worried. Everything I've read online says that it could be linked to stress. Just one more thing to hurt!

I would see a chiropractor and massage therapist. This could easily be the result of blocked nerves and knots in your muscles. It will take more than one chiropractic adjustment to clear up the problem, but getting regular adjustments cleared up loads of my problems. Massage does an incredible amount of good for me too. I get very tense muscles without doing anything to cause them, and the tension causes nasty headaches and eyestrain. My acupuncturist is actually the one to massage me. He actually works out knots, where massage therapists usually just rub muscles all over your body to make you feel good. Find someone who will focus on clearing up knots.

There is a condition called a rye neck, not sure the spelling is right but do a web search to see if it sounds like what your going through. Try putting warm wet compresses on your neck or and cool ones on your head. If it does not improve see your family doctor or a neurologist. this type of doctor can help you deal with headaches or even pinched nerves in your neck or spine can cause these types of symptoms.

Then if you just end up needing a adjustment or your muscles massaged or relaxed, then see a chiropractor or massage therapist. Don't always assume it is fibro related. Not all symptoms are related to fibro, other health issues can produce the same types of symptoms, but can often be serious and in need of attention. be safe not sorry. :)

That really sounds like something terrible to be going through. I know that the other people have offered some suggestions that might help you out and I don't think that it would hurt at all to try those things out. However, I also think that it is important to go ahead and make an appointment with your doctor because it could be something that does require medical attention.

I have pain in the back of my head that comes from neck arthritis and tense shoulder and neck muscles pinching the nerves. Actually starts at base of skull and goes around my ear. In my case, it is called occipital neuralgia. I use a heating pad on my shoulders and ice pack on back of head. I have had the tingly feeling in my left shoulder that feels like something is crawling on it but usually ends up being the beginning of a muscle spasm.

Cervicogenic Headache! It mimics migraines. It goes along with Fibromyalgia, and Degenerative. It starts in the cervical spine. Talk to your doctor about it. If another occurs before you do, try two Alka Seltzer in orange juice, and chug it. Take two Tylenol with a Monster and drink slowly over a one hour period, and in fifteen to twenty minutes your headache will be gone. Good luck!

It sounds like a serious case of muscular stiffness. Your doctor may be right when he said it is related to stress. When you are stressed, you tend not to notice how you move your body or even how you sit down. Sometimes, when we are so engrossed with work, you will that you are not moving your neck anymore and over time, that will cause your muscles to be really stiff.

I would go and check out an osteopath to have a look at your neck muscles and vertebras. Chiropractors are good for certain quick fixes, in my experience of 20 years, whereas osteopaths will work in a gentler way to bring back the energy flow into your neck and head. If you don't need any kind of manipulation, why not try and see an acupuncturist?

I know what you are talking about as the head pains are a constant problem to me. I would not call it a headache either. I was time and time again by my doctors that it is stress because I am not working and no one has recommended me to any specialist. The pain has a tingling sensation and when it happens, it is like I get confused, I can’t think properly and my speech becomes a struggle. I don’t know if you have these additional problems. Lease let me know.

You need to see a neurologist asap and request a MRI of your head, i had the same symptoms... I couldn't call my headache a proper headache, because there was a huge difference between the headaches I had before (my migraines never or rarely were one sided) and this one was one sided. Long story short... I was diagnosed with something. You should never ignore this kind of symptoms, go see a neurologist or ask your GP for a MRI.

This could all have to do with posture, or to be even more specific, your jaw alignment. I get that pain too...sometimes it even extends down one side of my nose! And if I'm driving and the sun is "peaking" through the trees creating a flashing illusion, that would be just enough to bring on a migraine. Your jaw is SO linked to ear/head/neck/facial pain. If you clench or grind your teeth at night (I clench), that's when you're doing all the damage. The worst part is, you don't even know it. You just feel the pain of it the next day. My top teeth slightly go over my bottom when I bite down, which makes it super-easy for me to clench all of my back teeth while I'm asleep. It's torture, and I can't stop! My dentist wants to make me a mouth piece to stop me from destroying myself nightly...but I've been stalling. I don't know why...just feel kind of lazy about the whole thing. Ibuprofen works GREAT when I get those next-day pains. Even just a half works fine, I'm pretty lucky, so far.

Need to be diagnosed by a proper doctor who will tell you whether it is headaches or migraines. Then you can proceed in taking medication to make it better.
