Default Re: Dr say brain fog is just depression

It is very common for doctors to blamed brain fog on depression unless you show sign of speech-problem, such as slur, lost of language skill, etc . I'm suffer from both Major depressive disorder brain fog and fibro fog. They are much different when it hit big time. It is hard for doctors to distinguish which fog belong to fibromyalgia if the sign is just foggy brain. There are people who able to gain disability from fibromyalgia alone even. I couldn't do it yet, but I'm also not ready to do it either. I greatly believe that most fibro sufferer are much more tougher than any doctors given credit for. Somehow I wonder ... if is it because do to the difficulty of fibro diagnosed , not yet knowing the truth for sure ( regardless of how many claimed of numbers of breakthrough they've got) , and constant debating of the nature of fibro still making them wish to reject the idea completely? Not medically but personally.

I can't stress it any more than to say,get rid of your doctors as soon as possible!His\Her huge ego can't accept the fact that he\she and colleagues are not smart enough,to not only solve it,but to even accept it enough to offer any support.Run like hell!As for disability,it is very difficult to get with fibro and depression. In quebec, canada, there is a five doctor panel and if only one says no,it is no.And since at least 50% of quacks don't believe it exists, you know you are likely to be denied, lawyered up or not!Sorry to say.

Hi!im new here.i have "brain fog" also.my fibro is coupled with anxiety and depression.im frustrated today because i got scheduled with the nurse practitioner today and i needed to talk to my doctor.she was not empathetic to my pain associated with physical therapy and the pain i have all over after an anxiety attack.i would really like to find a specialist that knows how to handle all of my nerve/muscles and how to treat those symptoms.ive done alot of reading and there are doctors who do,but now that i am on disability the insurance is a problem.
