Hi I'm Melissa I've had fibro for about ten years. I think it might have been linked to the cancer I had when I was 14. I'm not entirely sure. I had ovarian germ cell cancer when I was 14. The cancer went away after a year, The pain did not, after going to several doctors one said I had fibromyalgia.
I have 2 children one 5 months and one 4. The 4 year old is always wanting to run around, which is hard because there are days when its really hard to keep up with her. I don't complain or anything, I'm not sure how to explain this to a four year old. I just try to keep up with her the best that I can.
I'm not taking any medication at the moment. I'm breastfeeding and I'm afraid any thing that I might take might have an adverse effect on the baby. I'm not going to risk anything.
There's a little bit about me, and how the illness has affected me. I hope to learn how to better manage it here, and maybe make a few friends along the way.
