How do you cope with migraines?!?!

About 4 years ago I went to GA on vacation, but I was dreading it so bad that I got a migraine and it lasted for a full 7 days. Finally I couldn't take it anymore so I went to walk in clinic and they gave a shot of Tordal. So when I followed up with my PCP he prescribes them for me. There are rules like no ibuprofen and not more than 4 in 24 hours.

Toradol is a life-saver! I wish my Neurologist would prescribe it for me.
I have tried Imitrex and now I am on Relpax which is starting not to work.

Always be really careful about taking too much medication for migraines as you can get in a cycle of rebound migraines. Kinda counterintuitive, I know.

Pat,

Such a smart piece of information, and something that everyone should know.

A few years ago I was having such horrible migraines and every morning I would wake up with another horrible headache with aura, then take another Fioricet.
Finally, my PCP sent me to the Faulkner Headache Clinic in Boston where they told me all about rebound headaches. Boy, did I have a HORRIBLE couple of days without my Fioricet, but once it was out of my system, the morning headaches were gone.

Melissa.
