I am a 28 year old male who on 5/16/2014 packed out truck at work. I work for cvs. On 5/17/2014 I woke up with pins and needle in my right arm and fingers. It would constantly come and go until 5/23/2014, when again on truck day I felt my whole arm go numb. I rushed to the er who diagnosed me with possible carpel tunnel syndrome. I was given prednisone and told to make an appointment with the hand specialist they had recommended me to. While waiting for my appointment, which was 2 weeks out, I noticed my arm getting sharp pains mostly in the wrist, palm, and occasionally finger area. Then a couple of days later the same symptoms started in my left arm. Weird as it might sound, the right one started to get better. I finally saw the hand specialist who said I have double unknown neuropathy in my hands/wrists. I made an appointment to see a neurologist to give me an EMG and nerve conduction test. Mean time I had a severe painful attack in my arm and noticed I was kind of sensitive to the cold ac on my upper arm area. I went to the ER again who said I am healthy but it could be arthritic in nature. While waiting to see a rheumatologist as I have no insurance, I saw an urgent care dr who did a few carpital tunnel diagnostic tests on me and said by the date of my EMG and nerve conduction tests, I would know its carpel and or cubbinal tunnel syndrome. Well I got the tests done and sure enough my muscle strength in my arms/wrists/hands was good, as well as the nerves. At this point I am at a lost for words. I don't know what to think and have been severely depressed. The pain has mostly gone but does creep in sometimes at night, but not as bad. I can type and write again, but I am seriously worried it might be something worse. I know I do have some stiffness in my neck, some aches in my arm mostly at night, fatigue around evening but wake up around 5 am for no reason. I don't feel refreshed from my sleep, have diarrea, feel nausea, anxiety, depressed, some tingling in my feet(nothing bad like pain wise), still get tingling in my hands, and notice a slight tremor in my pinky finger at times. Anybody have any idea what this could be. I really am praying it not ALS, Lupus, RA or MS..............but idk and I am seriously scared! I do occasionally have a restless leg that doesn't hurt but is annoying to try and sleep with. It usually goes away once I start walking around.

All help is appreciated.

Hi there! Welcome to the forum and so sorry to hear you are going thru this... your symptoms do sound like neurological ones mostly. I suffered from something similar back in 2010, I lost the sensibility of my left hand (half of it) for weeks, but was ok after a while. I do get pain there from time to time, specially when I apply pressure on the joints of my wrist... Btw, my hands tremble sometimes as well, been like that for YEARS.

Your symptoms could mean a lot things, sadly :( I really feel for you, because there is NOTHING worse than living in fear and uncertainty not knowing what is wrong with you. I know because I'm in the same situation. It's so scary and depressing. But I do think that it could be a neuropathy. I know it's hard to accept the diagnosis from your doctors sometimes, simply because you think it might be something else... but you really need to relax.

I hope its something that is fixable. I really don't want MS or Lupus or als or RA.

I was hoping it was fibromyalgia. I was reading DR qeervains tendonitis would explain the carpel tunnel like symptoms.
