Having a bad & painful day. I need to look foward.:-:)cry:

Welcome, Donna. Sorry to hear you're having a tough day. Sometimes you look forward in small bites. I hope you find some ideas here to help you. It's nice to know we are not alone. Hugs.

Hi,
I have been out of work for a month. Not any better. Pain & fatigue overwhelm me and my memory is shot. I wan't to go back to work for 2 hours at a time
but i have lost self confidence whether i will make it.

same Miss Donna

Donna hang in there. You can make it.
Make sure to stay on a set sleep schedule.
Try to breath slowly and calm the nerves.
The two hours a day a work will keep you moving
And you mind of the pain. You do have some good days
Ahead of you. Stay strong and keep moving.

I feel your pain. I'm so sorry.

Hi Donna and welcome. Some days are just so tough with the pain and fatigue. I completely understand as I suffer from it as well. More not-so-good days than good days. I also understand the fear of going back, especially with the brain fog. You say you want to go back a couple hours per day, but you feel you've lost your confidence. Well, the only way to overcome that is to just do it. I always try to think of the worst case scenario. So, for you....What is the worst case scenario? You try and go back for 2 hours at a time and you continue to have memory issues? Then you are no worse off than you are now. So, if you start back for 2 hours at a time and it works out, then GREAT! It's forward movement. If you try it and it doesn't work out, then you know you need to come up with another solution for income. It's still forward movement. Those can be tough things to hear, but sometimes just doing something whether the outcome is what we want or not, can be easier to deal with than being stagnant and doing nothing but fret.

I hope this helps. I don't want to stress you out worse. I'm a pretty direct person, but also have a lot of compassion. Gentle hugs....

Sorry for not replying,

I am in such bad shape that my rheumatolagist is sending me to pain management specialist soon. Feeling very bleak !

Hello, welcome to this group!

I was in quite a depression when I was "turned over" to a pain management Dr. It turned out to be a giant help. We have been going after one major pain,(ha ha), at a time. I can refuse anything or try any he suggests. Sometimes through my research, we talk over other avenues. It still took me a long time to come to terms with the reality of FM. Once I did that, most of my depression lifted. Of course when I'm in a lot of pain I'm
also depressed. I sure hope you find a pain specialist as good as mine is.

You will come through this tunnel and find not only what works for you to improve your pain and depression, but also will find how to find some happiness.

I'm glad you have found a good pain management specialist. I don't feel like I have yet. I've tried 3 so far. That's great! And Donna, if you don't find one that works, try another.

Donna, your doing the right thing going to PM. your not alone and FM is real. i know pain and it can be depressing at times.
im not on depression meds. i just dont have the time for it and it increases the pain level. sometimes we all feel down for a bit. keep in mind there
are going to be some good days ahead. i havent worked in over 20 yrs now. their are days i wish i could. but i cant even go outside during the day.
im not letting it get me down, im over coming that.

i know you can do the two hours. devote your time into healing thoughts and not depression thoughts. increase your work time slowly.
i am worried about you and want to let you know I care.
