Hi Dopey,
I am also a new member.
I was unofficially diagnosed by a prominent Physiatrist (Rehabilitation Specialist - he can do physical therapy, a pain specialist's job, diagnostics, etc. all in one man with a doctorate) in my area. He read my list of medications grouped by migraines, body pain, nerve pain, muscle pain, depression & anxiety and ADHD. He then pressed all the 18 areas (my mom said I looked like I was going to kill him) as I cringed or yelled out, and then he asked me to sit down. He then told me he was unable to help me because there were too many muscles tightened up and Botox injections would not help because I had Fibromyalgia and so he was going to refer me to a Rheumatologist.
"I halso have ADHD and now have fibro. Before getting sick that triggered fibro I had control of my brain and ADHD. But now I feel I have no control over my brain or any other symptoms ofnADHD. Does anyone else this concern?"
My mother was there because I cannot remember much these days and those symptoms started right around the time the pain started to get bad - about six months after my last car accident. I also have a very hard time paying attention despite my Adderall. I think this is what everyone calls "Fibro Fog"? Although I have not heard many others talk about ADHD.
I LOVE cooking and am in charge of making supper for a family of four adult and my five year old son four nights a week. I have come to realize it now takes me TWO HOURS to make a 45-minute to an hour meal every night. This is because I cannot pay attention to what I am doing and I end up going online or reading another recipe, or staring out the window, or just forgetting what I am doing...I just don't know. It is very irritating. One night I had to give up and go downstairs to lay down because I pulled a muscle in my back (my whole left trapezius! which is in pain a lot anyway) because I way putting fork wholes in potatoes to bake them, got the fork stuck and pulled my right arm up with my left arm.
Are you currently on any medications for your ADHD, Fibro or otherwise?
Melissa
