Hi I just need to moan. Last night was a difficult night sleeping, I was awake more than asleep from pains in my calves and feet. Woke up and thought if I get up and walk around have breakfast it might ease off, it hasn't, it is now 6pm Australian time and it is as bad as at the beginning of the day. I have had panadol, Valium thinking it might relax my muscles and am trying to avoid taking anything stronger until before I go to bed. I have an appointment with a specialist physician I think my GP wants to rule out Parkinson's (my mother has Parkinson's) MS or a neurology condition to a metal plate I have in my head (it has been there for 50+ years. Any comments will be welcome.

Sorry you are having a high pain day...i hope the specialist will rule out these other illnesses and maybe give you something that will help with these flares.

Panadol is unlikely as you have found out to do much for fibor pain. I also have valium to help with sleep but it has never helped me with pain or relaxed my muscles either.

I hope tomorrow you wake feeling a little better..that is what the forum is for. Take Care

A bad night....and then having to wake up to the day. It is something we all go through and it is just one of those miserable days, days we feel hopeless. So I completely understand how you feel.

It is good that you will soon see a specialist to find out what it is exactly you are suffering from. Whatever the answer, always know that having an answer is often better than not knowing what it is, though I know any diagnosis is life-shattering. But you can finally work seriously towards a treatment plan and learn your new limitations and focus on what you can do.

Sadly, bad nights will probably continue to be a part of your life, but it gives us a good opportunity to analyze what we did the day before that ruins our night, what we need to do for a good night's sleep, meds that help etc.

Stay strong and smile to fight against fibro or any illness. :)

I am just back from the specialist physician and he suggested I have hyperventilation syndrome, that I need to focus on breathing properly. He believes the hyperventilation is due to ongoing anxiety. I am not sure how I feel about this but will try to focus more on breathing and see if that relieves some of the pain/pinsand needles in my legs and feet.

Thanks for the update. I hope you have a better sleep tonight, we can cope with just about anything but pain etc on top of not sleeping is not a good combo! Take care
