Need Tips on Solving Insomnia

I had sleep insomnia , and one of the natural ways I used to get natural sleep ,was I would work myself up during the day,anything I did ,I did it with extra effort, then in the evening, I would exercise heavily,take a very long hot shower ,eat a nd drink mild, it would somehow help me get some sleep,though I would be up in about four hours, but I would have gotten some sleep compared to none.
