Hi,I
I was first diagnosed with Fibro in 1995. A pain specialist confirmed it in 1998. I am bipolar, have disc problems in my back and now need a second foot surgery to fuse the bones in the middle of my right foot after it was crushed in a car accident. I have been on disability since 1998. I work one afternoon a week as a reference librarian, and spend one day a week with my nieces ages 15 months and 3 years. I am 48. I moved home with my parents when I went on disability. I was in a wheel chair and not able to afford to stay out on my own. Now 15 years later I am not in a wheel chair, but still in a lot of pain, but it is becoming my turn to care for my parents, as neither of them is in good health anymore. I am finding being a care giver very hard when sometimes I am not sure I am up to taking care of me. I survive. Since the car accident in 2012 I have not been able to walk without every step hurting. The surgeon thinks fusing my foot would help the pain, but right now I don't know how we would manage with me off my feet for 4 months. Pain medicines don't seem to help. I am experimenting with essential oils, because my doctor doesn't want me to take anything more than Vicodin, and that makes no difference on it at all. I can't even tell I haven't had it when I miss a dose. I have had ups and downs since the fibro was diagnosed, but am frustrated right now. My 3 year old niece loves scrap booking with me, but doesn't understand why I only do quiet things. I wish I had more energy and stamina. Thanks for listening.
