Hello again,
I will be happy to explain about this moving project - Mommyalgia - Documentary:
Two years ago, my good friend Assaf Ehrenreich, an Israeli filmmaker, was writing a script for his final master's thesis. Assaf was going to make a lighthearted film that was going to bring to light his relationship with mother. The concept of his film was to bring together the fact that he had never smoked cannabis, along with his mother's devastating Fibromyalgia, and document them smoking their first joint together.
As filming began, he realized the layers of physical and emotional suffering that his mother, his father, and the whole family was going through. Documenting their interactions, as well as the stigmatic labels from the medical community became too distracting, and the movie shifted from a lighthearted movie to a serious documentary describing the life of a Fibromyalgia patient and the family.
"MomMyalgia is a personal-family film, which aims to create social change through awareness to a disease that can strike anyone at any time!
Over 7600 pills swallowed, more than 2500 sleepless nights, more than 150,000 shekels in medical expenses, 20 doctors, 19 alternative therapists and acupuncturists, injections of painkillers and countless types of medicines, 7 years of pain, 5 hospital admissions, 5 visits to pain clinics, 2 healers, 2 rabbis, hydrotherapy, magnets, herbs, infra-red beds and one medical establishment, who cannot cope or find a solution or relief to a large group of people crying out for help."
