I have been going to a doctor for a few years trying to get a diagnosis. In the last two years we have discussed the following:

  • Quick, stabbing pains or lingering pains in random areas of the body
  • Tingling, numbness or burning sensation in extremities, skin feeling tight
  • Dizziness/Disorientation
  • Difficulty focusing or remembering things
  • Muscle and joint stiffness
  • Headaches
  • Irritability/Stomach aches
  • Sensitivity to heat, profuse sweating to minor temps over 70 degrees
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Fatigue/Exhaustion
  • Difficulty Sleeping/Lack of restful sleep

My doctor has run a full blood panel, urine test, and chest x-ray as well as had me see an ENT doctor for the lack of sleep and everything appeared normal besides some inflammation in my sinuses. My doctor has said that he does not know of any conditions that outline my symptoms, however, Fibro covers all of those symptoms.

I frequently have pains in 6 or more regions of my body at one times of varying intensities as well as the random "electric" pains as I call them.

I, of course, have no intention of diagnosing myself, but would simply like to get information from people that have been dealing with pains much like my own.

Thank you for your time!

Well your right all those symptoms and more point toward fibro. But to many doctors they don't believe in it or feel helpless giving such a diagnosis because other than medication there is nothing they can do about it. Most doctor's want to relieve pain or cure conditions and so when someone has lots of symptoms but all tests are normal they too find it very frustrating.

First off be glad nothing life threatening has show up. Now begin the process of doing as much at home to help relieve your worse symptoms. You can learn lots of ways to do this by reading through the sections of this forum and read the way back older ones too. Ask us questions and post answers as well.

Watch the video's and try to cut as much stress out of your life as possible. That is a hard one as life is filled with stress. Take up a new hobby, read lots of books, watch funny movies, keep your legs warm at night to reduce leg pain & cramps. Eat healthy. Etc........ Lots of good ideas on this forum that might help your condition. Good luck with your searching for answers in the medical community. Don't let it get you down. :)

It took me going to Mayo clinic in Rochester MN to finally be told I have fibromyalgia. My regular Dr's and home town specialists would hardly say the word as it can't be diagnosed with blood or any other tests. If they don't have a test to prove it. They won't diagnose it as fibromyalgia. Only specialists at Mayo would tell me what I had. I had to request a referral to Mayo from my GI specialist. Try Mayo if you can get there. Awesome place!
