I wonder how many diagnoses or which diagnosis would apply to qualify for SSI or disability. I have been diagnosed with CFS, had interim treatment for Lupus but then received the diagnosis of Fibromyalgia, and now have been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I'm not sure where to begin or whom to contact. I've seen lots of websites or pages that "help" with applying for disability, but I am not too trusting of these sites. I'm not sure if going to my local Dept. of Human Services is the place to start. Does anyone here know which way to go? Thank you!

bcard, Go to your local Social Sercurity office and ask about applying for disability. They will give you a bunch of forums to fill out and tell you if you have enough work credits to even apply. If you don't then ask about SSI.

Being on disability is not all that great as the payment is small and you can only do certain kinds of things that they approve of. Usually disability is not enough to live on.
