Where do I start .i hate this and get it all the time.ive seen a one cruncher so much I'm sure his seen more oh my body then my boyfriend,I've been bent this way and that.pushed pulled and lay on,his an ex rugby player so it's kinda like being flatten by a sexy stream roller lol.
But here's the thing ,nothing seems to help,I've tired acupucher .ive tired yoga.

So I guess what I'm asking is how many of us suffer with this, and how many have found something that lasts longer then a week.?

this is a horrible thing to have. it changes so much of all of us. my life has been a prisoner of this.. but I have decided to also try to find a way to bet it. im always searching for a relief. I have days I do nothing but want to cry. but remember what works for me may not work for you

The problem is that sciatica isn't an actual diagnosis. It's just a symptom. You need to see a specialist and find out what the actual problem is. I suffered with it for nearly three years, to the point that I couldn't walk, sit, or lay flat anymore before I saw someone and ended up having a spinal surgery to fix the problem (bulging discs and narrowed spinal canal pushing on my nerves).

Yes I see the dr Tuesday.i plan on asking to see someone.inwas told ten years ago I had the starts of osteoporosis.and I'm very low on vit D .so will make sure that tested for to.

If you have osteoporosis we need to increase our vitamin levels and other supplements or else we will be more vulnerable.

I hope the doctor is able to give you some more insight to what exactly your problem is. I hate seeing other people struggling with that pain. Let us know how your doctor visit goes tomorrow?

I live with sciatica every single day. I'm sorry to hear that yoga and acupuncture did not work out for you. They give me relief more often than not. If only they were as available as charity hospitals. I guess that's a cultural divide we'll have to work on. I hope your doctor can help you find lasting relief that works for you.

That is the key right there, we need to give it a try and see what provides relief, doctors tip can certain be of value.

I'm currently off work because I woke up a few days ago with the worst back pain I've ever had. It's always in the same place, on my lower back slightly to the left and down my leg, but this time it hurt a lot more. I haven't bothered going to the docs because the advice is always the same, I've just been taken Ibuprofen and trying to move around a little and thankfully, after about 5 days, it's starting to ease.

I'm always sorry to hear that someone has Sciatica. I have had it several times in my life, first on one side, then the other, and ultimately, on both sides at the same time. I also have spinal stenosis and disk issues, and when they are exacerbated by any added activity, I end up with the Sciatica. I haven't used a cane on a daily basis in years, but I keep one at home and another in the car, just in case the Sciatica comes back, because it's unpredictable. I have gotten over it in the past with Physical Therapy and also Physical Rehabilitation.

One reason I moved to this 2-story house was so that I could strengthen my back and leg muscles by going up and down the stairs on a regular basis, and it seems to have helped. When I first moved here, I had difficulty going up and down the stairs, but it appears that the muscles have strengthened, and I haven't had the Sciatica in years, although I did feel a touch of it the other day. I promptly took a hot bath and a muscle relaxer and anti-inflammatory, and so far, I've been able to stave it off.
