I am a 58 year old woman who has struggled with
Depression, PTSD and now a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia .
I have all the symptoms, from pain, insomnia, headaches,
fatigue, nausea and sensetivity to smells. In the last year
I have begun a regime of pscye meds, Lyrica for the
Fibro and weekly therapy sessions. Nothing works to
stop the pain.

It's highly possible you are just like me, as is probably most if not all of everyone else here.
Some people are born sensitive. Then things happen over the period of ones life that the mind and body are trying to "catch up" to process. And hence? Fibromyalgia.
Anyone who's really looking for a solution and willing to do the work to heal already knows this.

Have you ever heard of Eckhart Tolle talk about The Pain Body?

Start digging.

-AA Big Book
^^^^^^this book holds all your answers. But it has to be done, not just read.

Everything needs to be worked through, one piece at a time - and emptied out of the mind.
When that happens, our bodies clear up.

Still pushing your book I see

I wanted to let you know that you are not alone. I have anxiety, depression, PTSD and Fibro. As well, we are close in age. My experience is that beginning any new medication for depression takes time to work and sometimes you may have to try a different one. Frustrating and requires patience. Depression can cause physical pain as well, but you may know all of this. My Fibro began after an event that caused the PTSD. So surviving? Well for me, it helped to accept the diagnosis, which I did not for a long while. Therapy did indeed help with PTSD, which helps my Fibro. Finding the right therapist is key. I preferred a Psychotherapist. I now know that stress is a big factor in triggering Fibro pain, as well as weather. My family physician refers to me as having a "circle" of things to deal with and one affects the other and the other and so on. My PTSD symptoms have improved with time, which helps with stress. I do what I can do when I have a good day, but don't overdo. I try to do little things like having my nails done when I have the energy to go out. When I'm in pain I use my heating pad and watch or listen to something pleasant. Getting out of bed is difficult but I do it because I feel more depressed if I don't. I congratulate myself for every tiny achievement like having a shower or doing the dishes. There are days that are more difficult than others, of course. I do have a prescription for Tylenol 3 but for very limited use. It has to be an extreme pain level before I will use it as there are side effects and the risk of addiction. For me spiritual health has been an amazing help. I returned to church after searching for the right one. It is small and my pastor happens to have chronic pain and is knowledgeable about Fibromyalgia. When I can't go on Sunday's I watch the service online. You may have no interest in church or synagogue etc. but something you are comfortable with, may help. To say I don't have ridiculously angry, sad days would be untrue but it's getting better. I'm researching pain clinics or physiotheraphy or other options and that is why I joined this forum to see what others have found helpful. This is a long post. I'm hopeful there something I've said that helps.

Lily,
Thank you for your reply. This is the first time I have reached out, I mean further than
my family circle. It's very strange to connect with people who are going through the
same thing, feeling the same pain, having the same symptoms. I am so desperate to
have it all end. I am considering inpatient care since nothing else has helped. But not
sure that I can follow through. I'm on the maximum dosage of Lyrica and my
Rheumatologist will not prescribe pain meds. It took over thirty years to be diagnosed
with Fibromyalgia I have suffered more pain over the years, have seen more doctors
and specialist, have had every test imaginable and I'm just plain tired of it all. I've been
told that Liryca will only help only 30% of the pain. I feel like I'm dying a slow painful
death.

Hello,

Welcome! If your doc won't provide pain meds and you don't have relief it's probably time to find a pain management provider. There is great info in past postings here about keeping a pain journal so you can provide specifics of your situation. You may even find triggers if you log enough details. Do not suffer in silence. Doctors are only as good as their limitations allow them to be. Leaving a patient to suffer in an unending pain cycle is cruel. We as a group baffle doctors. You know your body, don't let someone with a big degree intimidate you! Have you checked vitamin d levels? Most of us run low. I had more energy when I got that adjusted. Good luck!

Hello

I agree with the other poster here who said you need to find a pain management specialist other than the doctor you currently have who will not prescribe you pain meds. That is just cruel. I left a doctor who wanted to blame my fibro on my weight even though I was diagnosed with it by her when I was very slim. I finally left her, even though I did learn a lot about my condition and body from her. I had to let her go. Too much stress! Now I have a new doctor who I love! She is very understanding with me about the pain. I had tears in my eyes from being so frustrated with the pain when I first met her and she listens! Find someone like that. It is really important because we are in fact dealing with very real pain.
