I got my blood work back and my doctor wants me in ASAP for more testing. Everything was normal except this:

ANA IFA SCREEN W/RFX TITER AND PATTERN IFA ANA SCREEN IFA POSITIVE (NEGATIVE) 42254-3 Positive
ANA IFA SCREEN W/RFX TITER AND PATTERN IFA ANA TITER IFA 1:160 (SEE BELOW) Positive
ANA IFA SCREEN W/RFX TITER AND PATTERN IFA ANA PATTERN SEE COMMENTS ( ) Positive

I've done as much Googling as my tired little brain can handle today and I'm just getting more confused. So, could I have Lupus? What if I don't really have many of the other Lupus symptoms? What else could this mean?

Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated. I go back in on Friday, so at least I don't have to wait too long.

Hi l3itch,

I know what it is like to have some blood tests and be staring at them wondering what they mean. So, I have looked up a few things for you, and written down a few things based on what I know from researching my own blood tests recently & then talking to my doctor afterwards about my findings. Even after you read what I have written, please (!) don't jump to any conclusions just yet.

That being said, according to the Mayo Clinic, "A positive test for the presence of these antibodies (ANA)— produced by your immune system — indicates a stimulated immune system. While most people with lupus have a positive ANA test, most people with a positive ANA do NOT have lupus. If you test positive for ANA, your doctor may advise more-specific antibody testing."

This could be the reason for why your doctor wanted you back in ASAP. Saying ASAP may have been a better way of making sure you got back in before the weekend so the blood test could get sent in to the lab quicker perhaps.

On a good note, you are NEG for every strain of Lyme Disease, you do not have Rheumatoid Arthritis, your CK levels are good which means you do not have any muscle damage, and all of your vitamin levels are in the normal range so you will not need any supplements.

Why don't you just go to your doctor and wait for him to interpret to you the results accurately. If you keep on worrying before your appointment with the doctor, that will really not do any good. Also, whatever you see online is not always accurate. You may just be scaring and stressing yourself out for no apparent reason.

I would suggest that you just relax and rest until you have finally heard from your doctor.
 
Just in case anyone was wondering, I did go in the for more in depth blood work and it was sent to the Rheumatologist. He said it was a false positive that I will always have and that I shouldn't worry. I'll take it.

Have you talked to your doctor about your test results? That is a lot of blood tests, and they should at least explain them to you.
 
You should definitely go to see your doctor soon, so he can screen you a bit more. Your results are a bit abnormal, your ANA tests results are positive, but that could mean so many different things actually. It just means your immune system is reacting to something in your body, so the best bet is to go to your doctor and get all the tests he order done, because as I said, lupus isn't the only thing that can stimulate your immune system. I'm glad you went back to your doctor. I saw nothing, all that, alarming in your blood work, so I'm glad it wasn't anything worth worrying about. Your CK, ALT, AST, ALP and ESR were all normal and those usually indicate something inflammatory is going on. My CK and ESR are always abnormal (unless I'm on higher doses of Prednisone) and my ALT fluctuates (although, it's always high normal if it's in range). I've got a positive speckled ANA and have had one for years. The only thing that's changed recently is I'm now negative for Anti-RNP which may change my diagnosis more towards lupus than mixed connective tissue disease.
