I am new to this forum --am happy to have found someone who recognizes the pain I am in.

I was diagnosed with Fibro in 1994 by a specialist who has since passed away. My PCP does not believe in Fibro so I went to the new Rheumatologist in the area because his ad said he treats Fibro. I was so disappointed when he complained & said that he gets patients when other doctors don't know how to treat Fibro..." He did nothing to help me, besides telling me to do stretching exercises and take more Tylenol & Advil. He did do a bunch of blood work, but the only thing that was found was a high Sed rate & CRP....probably due to my osteo in some of my joints. ( I know this cause I picked up my test results in med. records.) He did not call me with the results....and I have to wait for my 3 mt. check-up to get his input. I also have arthritis in my spine which is really flared up-- my neurologist, who does not discuss my fibro, has recommended Gabapantin & a steroid pack for one week for my back problems.

Thank you for allowing me to vent.

I have fibro, diabetes, hypothyroid & arthritis in my neck & knees.

You would be a step ahead to check on side effects.

Hi moe1959,
I was having awful lower lumbar pain, it actually sent me to the ER. They did nothing but to tell me that the doctor was sure I have degenerative disc disease and/or bulging disc. Went to my pcp and she did not do an MRI because I has a normal X-ray 6 months prior. She put me on a steroid and I am already on Gabapentin. After the steroids my back is a little better but I still cannot sit straight for more than 20 minutes or lay on my sides. I sent my doc a message bit have not heard anything yet......It is very discouraging at times.
