Dear BooBug,
I know work is so important to you right now but you are no good to anyone while your like this. This syndrome will test your patience in everyway possible. Your lack of sleep is also due to Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia. I used Valerian, sleep oils like lavender and apps with rainforest music, or something soft and pleasant to listen to. It didn't always work but you need to keep some kind of routinue so that your body latter on is used to it. I hope the mattress provides some comfort. Warm/ hot showers and heat packs or electric blankets work well too. Be kind to yourself, don't be harsh with yourself it doesn't help. As hard as it is to do intially just accept what is happenening. Rest when you need to, walk or simple exercise when you can. Progress is slow be aware of that and always be kind to yourself.
