I was just reading a paper the other day that talked about jobs that are easier to do or even in your home. You might consider babysitting or running errands for your older neighbors if you have a car. Working on line is a option if you like writing or can take orders over the phone. Read my blog Day 7, and you might find ways to make money that would help you right now.

I write on blogs, do surveys and help older people get to the grocery store and for beauty appointments and doctor visits. It is not much but helps pay my bills. Good Luck! :)

Thank you for replying I will look in to this I do love writing but my hands swell now if I write to much and my wrists hurt even when I use the mouse on my computer after awhile my hand goes numb and I have to stop

Be careful with amitriptiline, I was on it for a full year and I put on a lot weight! I think it made me feel so hungry... and that's why I just ate and ate! I think that's why a lot people gain a lot while they're on it. So be careful!

As 1sweed wrote, there are jobs online that might be up your alley. I too was very active until I became sick. It's hard to slow down, but sometimes needed. I get paid to write online. There are also customer service jobs you can do over the phone from home as well. There are actually jobs where you get paid to evaluate websites too. These sort of jobs are harder to find, but they're certainly out there.

Hi Bev, and welcome to the forum! I think everyone needs an adjustment time if it's at all financially possible. The shell-shock will wear off, but if everything hits at once, it is even more devastating. If it's possible, I always suggest adjusting time without worrying about rushing right out to find another job. (And of course I realize that not many people can actually afford to do that.)

You asked what job you look for now... I'm not sure what would best fit your situation, but personally I'd start looking at ads when I was ready and then be upfront with the employers about what you can and can't/won't be able to do. It may surprise you in how accommodating some employers can be.

Thank you all for the support and suggestions still getting my head around this so will take your advice and see how I go
I am back at the doctors next week so hopefully will get some help with this

Other ways to make some money is by selling books you don't want anymore. There are several places on line that buy school text books and also computer games and dvd movies. Usually you get offered a price per item and then print out their shipping label, and you pack it up so it won't get damaged, then put their label on it and mail it. They pay the postage. When they receive it, they either credit your paypal account or send you a check. If you use amazon they credit your account with them.

I have done this a few times and never had any problem getting paid. One note they like dvd's with information papers still inside each dvd container, it adds to the price they pay you. Without the info, price is less, but if you have a bunch of dvd's they want it adds up fast.

Some places buy back ink cardridges for a few dollars, and either credit your account or send you a check. :)
