is pain mental or physical?

Willie I find a warm bath can be very helpful, but temporary just like everything else.

To me, no one is physically touching me, pinching me, hitting me, punching me, etc. for me to feel pain. So how can it be physical? To me it is mental, then. Not because it is all in my head, but because my nervous system in the brain or wherever is saying i have pain and i shouldnt because nothing is physically hurting me. There is something physically and mentally wrong with me. My brain and transmitters are on the fritz. What i feel is real pain. Why, I don't know.

In regards to an earlier post, I read research was being done on fibro and stresses early in life, even a hard birth, triggering and making you prone to fibro.

Mental pain can be much worse than physical pain. Physical pain ultimately heals but something like depression or inner turmoil and uncontrollable thought processes can drive a person crazy.
