Does anyone follow the guaifenesin protocol? I read about it in a book by Dr St Armand. I'm carer for my son here in the UK and we're having some success with it, but would appreciate other followers' experiences of it

Never heard of it,I shall looks it up.maybe tell us about it .

This is very interesting; I just went to the site to read more about it.

It mentions a patient that was studied 40 years ago. The patient was taking a gout medication and then developed tartar deposits that he could peel off his teeth. So assuming it was written by the Dr., he postulated that it was being caused by the saliva, which he believed was caused by something going on metabolically:

"We now postulate that a defective metabolism, possibly a kidney enzyme, forces a minuscule retention of phosphate, which gradually accumulates to detrimental levels in many tissues. The excess results in inadequate energy formation (ATP), cellular fatigue and other malfunctions that explain all the symptoms of fibromyalgia."

I've been thinking its metabolism related for quite a while, since my muscle energy and the pain respond better to some foods too.

Thanks for this thread.
