Hello All :)

My good friend, Assaf, has created a unique project, a personal look at life with Fibromyalgia through the eyes of the family.

Thank you, and good health !

Amit,

I am sorry but such links are not allowed. Would you like to tell us a bit about this project in your own words as a friend to Assaf?

What a pity :( The titles of this post sounded so interesting, I was a bit disappointed when I read the ''intro''. I'd have really liked to know more about this project, I hate it when people just come here and write a few words, paste a link and just leave :( I always get here to late to see said link (before it gets deleted by a mod). I hope the OP comes back and explains more about this project, because it sounds really interesting!

Trellum, I googled "mommyalgia", and it looks as if it's a YouTube video! Try googling it! I haven't watched yet, but will later.

Hello again,

I will be happy to explain about this moving project - Mommyalgia - Documentary:

Two years ago, my good friend Assaf Ehrenreich, an Israeli filmmaker, was writing a script for his final master's thesis. Assaf was going to make a lighthearted film that was going to bring to light his relationship with mother. The concept of his film was to bring together the fact that he had never smoked cannabis, along with his mother's devastating Fibromyalgia, and document them smoking their first joint together.

As filming began, he realized the layers of physical and emotional suffering that his mother, his father, and the whole family was going through. Documenting their interactions, as well as the stigmatic labels from the medical community became too distracting, and the movie shifted from a lighthearted movie to a serious documentary describing the life of a Fibromyalgia patient and the family.

"MomMyalgia is a personal-family film, which aims to create social change through awareness to a disease that can strike anyone at any time!

Over 7600 pills swallowed, more than 2500 sleepless nights, more than 150,000 shekels in medical expenses, 20 doctors, 19 alternative therapists and acupuncturists, injections of painkillers and countless types of medicines, 7 years of pain, 5 hospital admissions, 5 visits to pain clinics, 2 healers, 2 rabbis, hydrotherapy, magnets, herbs, infra-red beds and one medical establishment, who cannot cope or find a solution or relief to a large group of people crying out for help."

Just google "mommyalgia" and you will find supporting links.

All the Best,
Amit :D

I am sorry, your film is interesting but we can not have advertising for money on the forum. Those who are interested can do a google search.

Thanks a lot for sharing this video over here, Amit! I will definitely look forward to this documentary, I just loved how your video started... with that pain specialist talking about fibromyalgia and what fibromyalgia is exactly. He is so right when he said the worst thing for a patient is uncertainty, I believe that uncertainty is the mother of all the evils... I actually blame uncertainty on the fact I suffer from depression since my diagnosis. He is so right! What a wonderful doctor he must be! The way he described all the obstacles people with fibro must face... the frustration some of us have to face every day! Everything!

Wow very impressive. One of the best definitions of fibro that I have heard yet.

I'm very interested to watch the completed project. He is at least trying to understand fibromyalgia, thankfully!

Thanks everyone:

Trellum, the interview video with prof. Buskila is only a small bit of the documentary. you should see the trailer - it really gives an inside look at what dealing with Fibro-and-family is like.

nascarmike, Thank you! please help us share it :)

Siderea, this project will be completed only if enough people are involved...

Amit
