    Fibro fog

I understand your pain. I had to quit my job as a legal editor for the Supreme Court of my State for many of the reason that you mention. At first I was diagnosed with MS, but a wonderful specialist at KU Med found that I have some atrophy of the frontal lobe where control of executive function...

    Aspartame and splenda

I enjoy this forum so very much. You have such good advice for me. I have not thought of purchasing seltzer water. So I will try it.

    Aspartame and splenda

Trellium, good question. This is why. I began drinking diet pop years ago because of the calories in non-diet pop. I prefer the taste of a carbonated drink because it seems to clear my throat. I would appreciate ideas for what to drink that tastes good that is not just plain water. Oh....do...

How do you deal with frustration?

Dear MEGersheim, My heart goes out to you, as do my prayers (if you don't mind). The negativity that you are surrounded with is compounding your stress and thus your fibro. I will tell why I go to a mental health counselor. One, she never judges me. She has helped me become realistic about...

    Aspartame and splenda

I would like to know if aspartame and/or splenda cause fibro to get worse temporarily. I have heard from a friend with fibro that it causes her to have pain fairly quickly. I am not good at figuring out the effects of things I eat or drink. Any help with this?

    Fibro fog

Yes. Fibro fog is constant for me. I also have a neurological disability that affects the frontal lobe and left parietal lobe. That also causes problems with concentration, forgetfulness, and some confusion. When I spoke to my neurologist this past month she explained to me that fibro fog is...

How do you deal with frustration?

I am lucky to have very supportive friends. Most of them have chronic illness themselves. We often think how convenient if we had a sign on our forehead that said we are having a bad day. The most frustrating things to me are (1) people that complain about their illnesses that are temporary and...

How do you deal with frustration?

Did I forget to say my husband is a scientist. He likes to think logically and linearly. I know he truly care about me even though he can be very frustrating. We had a great talk across the kitchen table. I told him that he had 2 roles: one as a friend that should listen and offer sympathy...

Fibro can worsen pain from other causes

Dear Jabeen, I am sending you my sympathy. I do not know the medical resources you may have. If you lived in the states, I would tell you to find a better rheumatologist. I have friends with fibro who are trying to be the best mother they can be as they struggle with fibro. It is very hard for...

How do you deal with frustration?

My biggest frustration is my husband. He truly cares about me and asks me questions, such as why does it hurt...is it your muscles or in your joints, etc. He is a scientist, and so I researched fibro and typed a document listing problems, with citations, and included a peer-reveiwed paper. He...

How do you deal with frustration?

I also feel frustrated and caught between not wanting to be the complainer and yet wanting some sympathy at times. With an illness that doesn't show on the outside, I often wish I had a series of signs on my forehead: in pain, can't concentrate, feeling great, fatigued, etc. I see a...

    Does Exercise Ease Your Pain?

A question about exercise and pain: When I walk even 100 years, the sides of my hips and the back and sides of my thighs burn. This does not feel like the "go for the burn" that we were told to do in the 80's. Any ideas of what may be causing it and how to overcome it?

Is There Anything Like Normal Pain When You Have Fibro

I did not mean to blame the source of all pain on fibro. The research indicated that increased sensitivity to pain wasn't limited to the trigger points but to pain from other sources as well.

Fibro can worsen pain from other causes

Can you tell me how and where to watch the video you mentioned?

Fibro can worsen pain from other causes

I think that genetics may be involved. My father suffered from this for years. As to where I was when I got it, that is hard to tell as I can't pin point when it started.
