Hi there, a lot of the comments in this thread refer to drugs in the USA, I take amitriptyline, paracetamol and tramadol for pain, but most days it doesn't work. I have tried heat pads, which help a little. However I think this is a large problem that GP's don't know about or how to treat
Hi Anne A, have you found that some GP's don't know anything about fibro ? I had an emergancy appt with a different doctor as mine was away, he said " never heard of fibro" Just gave me tramadol and said see your own GP !
My doctor thinks my pain levels are higher due to my depression, I recently lost my husband and I'm not coping on my own, due to other medical problems most anti depressants can't be given to me. I had ordered a book and will read through before deciding whether to try it or not
I have been diagnosed after over 10 years of problems, I have been given painkillers which were not suitable for fibro, and now have broderline kidney damage. Although doctors say there is no treatment plan, the fact that it has a name and is not a figment of my imagination, is helpful.
