She was able to take the test results run by my GP (who said I had lupus!) and tell me that I didn't. She diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and gave me the card for a pain doctor.  I was young and never sick before. I didn't call the pain doctor. I called her again when I was still in pain.

She YELLED and proceeded to be all types of unprofessional. If she had simply informed me what a pain doctor did (I was not able to even think clearly due to pain and was on my own, plus trying to hold down my first real job), and that she only diagnosed fibro, but didn't treat it, I wouldn't have bothered her again.

I left her office crying. I found another (pretty bad) rheum who at least found a vitamin D deficiency. The pain doc she sent me to was completely irresponsible, even though this doctor said she was great. The laws were a little different back then, so the pain doc gave me 90 vicodin and sent me on my way.

2 years later, when I finally had to quit and move home, I found the unopened bottle of pills in my belongings. I was scared of them. If I had a good doctor, I might have been able to be more functional. Instead, I actually got a letter saying the pain doctor left that practice and was not taking new patients.

So, STAY AWAY. STAY FAR AWAY.
