Hi all.
I am new to forums so be gentle:) In 2018 I woke up after a poor sleep traveling feeling I was carrying extra weight and feeling like i had cobwebs in my spine.
I later had burning feet, pins and needles numbness in my legs. Then later I had soreness/numb feeling in my spine, back of shoulders. Weak legs, arms. A pressure building with soreness around 4-5am, which lasts 2 hours and leaves me wired all day. That feeling increased a bit over the two hours. The only thing helping me is concentrated cherry juice and hot water bottles. I felt a prodding mainly in my right leg. I feel like I am fighting gravity, heavy, exhausted doing little. I can walk further but never feel any better for it. Not refreshed on waking or after meals. I am not having much luck with my doctor, who did take scans and found osteoarthritis in most of my lower joints plus back and osteophytes in my neck.
Origionaly further back than 2018, I had been getting very intense headaches left side head and my voice was going to a whisper. I was getting cramps in my side, muscle spasms in my legs.
I wonder if it may be neurolgical?

Sincerely
Jim

sounds more like osteoarthritis

Hi Jim,
Best thing for you to do is get tested for all of the various things that could be causing this. There are quite a number of things, and it sounds to me as if your doctor has not really investigated this thoroughly. It's not going to help you to speculate - you need to get tested and find out.

Hi guys,

Thank you your input. I wouldnt say osteoarthritis is not having an effect but it started over night a very big difference after a lot of stress and little sleep before due to travel and work.
I wondered which type of tests you may think could help?
Ive had most blood tests, no rheumatoid, circulation issues, diabetes, organ trouble. All negative. The only thing found was osteoarthritis in knees, hips, back and osteophytes on neck. I did have for many years one hip osteoarthritis prior and i was climbing mountains so im quite familiar its pains. This is more a body soreness, and my right ancle tried to swell but got it under control with travel socks and dandelion.

Kind regards

a blood test will show osteoarthritis it will not show arthritis however - an x-ray will show arthritis as will a ct scan. there is a distinct difference between the two - arthritic pain will usually decrease with movement while osteoarthritic pain will usually increase with movements Fibromyalgia pain comes in flares which can last 5 minutes to days movement makes little change. its also a different type of pain

There are many disorders, syndromes and illnesses that have symptoms similar to fibromyalgia. Lupus, MS, ALS, ME, to name a few. You can look it up to get the rest of the list. If your pain is widespread and severe, you should get tested for all of the things that could be causing that.

Thank you for your input,

I had x-rays, which showed the osteoarthritis in knees, hips, lower back, then an MRI showing osteophytes in the neck maybe elsewhere damage to the lumbar and the pharmacist who i could understand better than my doctor due to accent was saying the lumbar damage can create pains in the legs and the neck damage can cause pains in the fingers, hands. I wonder though why finger pain only at night.
I had a rheumatoid arthritis, which was negative though it is what my mother has. I wonder the lupus et all are there tests for most of these?
I know MS has lesions usually. I think this issue started slowly through stress, loosing strength in my voice, feeling weaker, weak legged.
The soreness does feel different from the usual arthritis pain, though most nights i feel a pressure, soreness over my chest, inner elbows, legs.
It comes with heaviness, exhaustion. The arthritis though I feel pains niggles, stiffness are seeming quite different.

Kind regards

I am really sorry to hear about the challenges you've been facing with your health. I would strongly recommend discussing your concerns with a specialist, perhaps a neurologist. Stay calm and keep seeking the support you need.
