Hi @shaanny

my arms / hands are about to crash, but I've just sent a few welcomes to newbies, as I know what it feels like when no answer appears.

We are all over the world, so people come and go at odd hours.

I'm sure you will like it here, Welcome 🤗 🤗

my arms / hands are about to crash
@BlueBells sorry I've not replied, I've had bad foggy few days, my arms are crashing constantly. I've lost my temper with my doctor this morning, they just don't care. I've been waiting for an appointment with pain clinic, only to find out he's 'forgotten' to do the referral, like he forgot to refer me to musculoskeletal department last year,
I'm feeling a bit low, I nearly put the kitchen on fire last Thursday (brain fog?) forgot I had rice on, and went for a long soak in the bath. I'm in week 6 of being off work, and today doctor said I'm ot trying to "push through" which I really am, I've 2 large dogs needing exercise, but when you've terrible pinching pain in ribs and shooting pains in hands and feet and toure head is cracking its a bit trying, and don't get far.
Not a happy girl today. I'm curled up on the sofa feeling sorry for myself and my pain.

Aw shaanny, if you need to be cwtched up (cwtch is cuddled in welsh) then do that? I'm glad your acknowledging you're having a bad day (most people stuff things down and that's bad for you) but you look after yourself, do whatever is takes to make you feel better (and I hope you'll be ok soon)
🤗😙🩷🤗

@shaanny , "pushing through" is not always the best thing to do.
In my opinion, if your doctor is giving you grief because you are not "pushing through" enough, it may be time to seek out a new doctor.

Now, I am not saying there's never a time that it is appropriate to push through and go out and do even if you don't feel like it. A lot of the time, if we make ourselves do something small and/or gentle, like going for a walk or doing some small project, it will lift our spirits, and it is also vitally important to keep your body moving daily no matter what.

But this needs to be done with full awareness of the way your body is feeling today, where and how much pain, and by choosing something that will not exacerbate the pain. Doing what you reasonably can each day is a good idea, but simply pushing through for the sake of pushing through is over rated.

@Auriel A fellow Welshy 😊, my friends in mid and south Wales use the word cwtch a lot. I'm North, Anglesey. Thank you, I am cwtching today.

@sunkacola I agree, my partner called to see what the doctor had said, and he's actually called the surgery to complain, like you say, do keep moving most of the time, and I've done nothing but push through since before Covid, and we all know getting an appointment through covid was moe than difficult.
Thank you both 💓

he's 'forgotten' to do the referral, like he forgot to refer me to musculoskeletal department last year,
Reminds me of my GP 'forgetting' to get me my first rheum appt., delaying my diagnosis by 2-3 months back then....

@shaanny , @Auriel , @sunkacola , @JayCS

Hi all :) I've been away for a week, and left the laptop at home :giggle:

he's 'forgotten' to do the referral,
My ex was given a referral for an ultrasound, and when he gets there, doc (specialist) had 'forgotten' to fill in both his own and patient names etc, and the test requested was all that was on the form! Fortunately the radiology phoned through for the missing info, but not acceptable when professionals 'forget', is it?
I nearly put the kitchen on fire last Thursday (brain fog?) forgot I had rice on
I most certainly relate to that ! I like my electric steamer, microwave, slow cooker and air fryer for the main reason ....they have timers and switch off by themselves 😁😁😁😁

When using the stove, I try (note, try ) to remember to stay near it, and not leave the kitchen while cooking. Pretty much mostly works.
pushing through for the sake of pushing through is over rated.
I so agree with that!! I am learning to pace myself and to accept my limits. I still push through at times, but I know the consequences are spates of crashes.

I believe that when someone, especially a professional, tells one to 'just push through' they have no comprehension of just how fibro can treat one. Not only that, but they generally have no desire to understand. In the case of a doctor, it's time to find another one maybe.

I steam my veggies very low after high start whilst chopping them or preparing something else.
And fry my eggs up high for one minute, then off. If that's not enough again.
Tough and dangerous. Another reason I'm not keen on cooking.

Thanks @Auriel , and @JayCS

I went on a 5 day 'domestic cruise' and I bombed out and slept or did nothing most of the time. Feel a lot more refreshed, though, a week of no cooking nor dishes.........ahhhh, lovely :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

Whats a domestic cruise @BlueBells (does it mean an actual cruise or just a break from doing house task's? ) either way I'm glad you're feeling better for it 🌤☀️

@BlueBells @Auriel also interested in what a domestic cruise is, I'm thinking you've been floating around your house?
Sorry not been on, I've been so tired.
So, i tried 'pushing through' yesterday. I drove a 30 mile round trip as I also care for my parents. I can honestly say I'm ready to chuck my driving in. I swear My right arm is going to drop off. And today I'm waiting for a GP phone call, I'm so bog eyed. Wish me luck, that I get a GP that might care just a bit

SHAANNY HAVE A BREAK!!!📣
