Hi all, posted a while back spoke to a few of you about my diagnosis being lost and my struggles trying to gather info for my PIP form. Well after giving trying to fill in the form and deciding to just struggle on, PIP wrote to my gp and then my caregiver and arranged a telephone consultation with me which I had recently, was set at ease with in seconds of the call as the first thing they said was they’d checked my medical records and can see i’d been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, which can as bit of a relief as I’d been trying to find this out when originally trying to fill in the form, the caller was a mental health nurse and put me at ease and I was able to give her the information she needed, I’m now waiting for them to give me an answer as to whether I will qualify. I wanted to reply on my original thread as I had chatted with some of you and wanted to update but unfortunately the thread was no longer open for replies, I hope this one stays open till I get my answer and just crossing my fingers till then.

I'm glad to hear that you were able to have a telephone consultation and provide the necessary information about your Fibromyalgia diagnosis for your PIP application. It's a positive step towards getting the support you may need. I hope the assessment process goes smoothly, and you receive a favorable outcome. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any more questions or updates in the future. Best wishes during this process!

Hi @Sim80

If you remember the names of anyone, place the @ symbol in front of their name, and that will get the message alert to them. :)

Hope the pip turns out in your favour sim80!, (also this thread should stay open for a bit cos it's new) 🍀🪙🍀

Hi Sim80, good to hear your update, I guess this thread'll stay open now! 👐
@Alex529 has just won a tribunal, so is probably in the know...

But the way UK people have described it, it seems more important to have described all your limitations on a bad day - since some people can do almost everything with fibro, some very little. I'm not sure tho, cos looking it up what its intention it, that does sound more as if it's the diagnosis that counts...?

Thank you, yes I’m happy I didn’t have to spend the call arguing about whether I’d been diagnosed as that was my main concern when preparing for the call, the nurse was very thorough and listened to what I had to say, she also asked me to describe my worst days which I feel confident I managed to do, I’d actually had a bad week not that long ago so had some recent experiences to describe aswell as some adjustments to make as my medication had been increased. Hopefully I’ll get my answer soon, I shall keep you updated

@Sim80 it's good to hear that you were treated well and that the diagnosis is on record. It helps a lot describing how it affects you at its worst. All the best for a positive result.

I'm glad to hear that you were able to get in touch with PIP and that they were able to find your diagnosis. It sounds like the telephone consultation went well and that the mental health nurse was able to put you at ease. I'm sure it's a relief to know that your application is moving forward.

I hope you get a positive decision soon. In the meantime, I'm happy to keep this thread open for you so you can update us on your progress. Just let me know if you have any other questions or need anything else.

Don't mean to pop your bubble or anything, ayssreasearch, but it is not up to you whether or not this thread remains open.
There's no reason for it not to remain open, but if there were a reason to close it, the moderators would do so, and it would be their decision and not yours.

I think it was simply the nice offer to keep in touch here, I guess unaware of the forum lingo.
Sure, which is why I was just letting them know. :)

Hey there been a while but here goes…
Okay so I was given a 0, applied for a reconsideration and the given another 0, didn’t get chance to appeal the second time as the reason I was asking for PIP was to avoid what has come already to pass while waiting for them to respond.
Couldn’t afford to keep up with the costs of living, I couldn’t afford to keep family under one roof, strain on relationships then I became homeless and I now live apart from my partner and support network I had, I have since had my health deteriorate further due to all the stress and fatigue, not been sleeping great and have now started having seizures, so more hospital hours to investigate that and top it off by having my driving licence revoked for 6 months maybe a year. 🫨

@Sim80

hi there.

So sorry to hear all of that. "Authorities' have a lot to answer for, but I think they are the same across the world.

At least you have here, and that is good. Hang in there, the others, like @Auriel , @Badger and others, will be along soon. 🤗 🤗 🤗
