The first doctor you need to see is a rhematologist as this disorder is considered a form of arthritis. This always seemed strange to me as it affects your muscles more than your joints. Then I am going to be brave here and say try to find a good mental health therapist. For as you read more through this forum the biggest problem we all have faced is dealing with unbelief by friends and family. It really helps to have someone who understands you in your corner. Some might say then family will really think I am crazy. Times have changed regarding that going to see a therapist, it is an acceptable pracitice now and besides it is for your mental health, so you do not become overly depressed, and it helps, believe me it will make life easier. Then depending on your symptoms you or your family doctor can decide your next move. I made the mistake of going to the wrong doctor first and it took me years to get the proper diagnosis.
