20yr's and Countin !

Greeting from California --- when I developed Fibromyalgia there was no internet, forums or support groups. In fact just mentioning Fibro 20yr's ago was meet with skepticism, disbelief and a referral to a mental health specialist :-? --- 20yrs later the information has gotten better -- the pain management is much more comprehensive but Fibro is a very lonely --- and at times a frustrating disease --- daily life with Fibro is a challenge all in itself --- reminding your loved ones that yes i do have a real illness becomes a "prove it game" you grow weary of playing --- from Doctor to Doctor -- from one painful day to the next --- at 37 years old --- I sit here at 4:30 in the morning -- and I recognize that Fibro is my weakness as well as my strength .. If I can get through any about or episode then everything in life is cake.

True sooooooooooo true we are all brave and i don't know why so many of us suffer self esteem issues because of our illness when really we are all heroes to carry on pushing ourselves to do the basics in a world where few really care or understand our daily/nightly battle!

Thank You so much ! I absolutely love the fact that this forum exist. Too often we suffer in silence and our voices are louder and stronger together ! Since I only have one life and one shot even in my tears and darkest hours -- I can't lead and live my life through the lens of my limitations ...
